New Archon Tooltips Addon Lets You See Player Parses In-Game—And Not Everyone’s Happy

A new World of Warcraft addon from Warcraft Logs is getting a lot of attention, and not all of it is good.

The Archon Tooltip Addon shows player raid stats directly in the game, including parses, All-Star points, and even world rankings, if the player meets certain log requirements.

Some Players Love It, Others Want It Gone!

Many players like that they can now check someone’s raid performance without leaving the game and opening a browser. But others are worried it’s going to lead to more gatekeeping and toxic behavior.

One forum post calling for Blizzard to ban the addon is getting support from players who think this tool will only make things worse.

There’s an Opt-Out, But It Might Hurt You!

The team behind Archon says you can hide your character by making your Warcraft Logs private. That way, your info won’t show up in the tooltip. But there’s a downside: without visible logs, it could be harder to get invited to groups or raids.

Helpful Tool or Too Much Info?

This addon might make things easier for group leaders who want to find strong players quickly. But for others, it feels like one more way to judge players before they even get a chance to play.

What do you think? Is this addon useful or does it go too far?
