Shamans are getting a brand new Lightning Bolt animation with the new patch! It’s very different from the current version, and a lot of players aren’t too happy about that.
The Animation itself
First off let’s take a look at what it’s like, as Sweetsour Gamer shows it off with some test dummies.
As you can see it’s as lot more flashy, but it’s also very different from the current version. It’s not just an upgrade, it’s an entire visual overhaul.
The Feedback
Players don’t seem to be too happy about it all. The main point that seems to be the issue is the fact that this looks more like a projectile than actual lightning. This is closer to the original/Classic version of the spell however, as that one was also more of a projectile.
And while there are also many players that find the new visual very cool, most still don’t think it feels like a lightning bolt.
The overall consensus in the thread seems to be negative. Luckily this is still only the PTR so we may see some more changes later on.
And of course as with everything that’s opinion-based, there’s really only one real solution.
