Orlando Salvatore, Lead Software Engineer behind the new gear upgrading system, Follower Dungeons, Plunderstorm, and MoP Remix, has left Blizzard Entertainment.

From leading a WoW guild to attending every BlizzCon, Orlando’s passion for Blizzard has been a defining force in his life. Over the years, his contributions to the WoW team have shaped unforgettable experiences for players worldwide!

Starting with WoW Classic, Orlando played a key role in recreating the iconic AQ gates opening and later helped deliver Burning Crusade Classic. As he rose to a leadership role, Orlando oversaw the development of major game-changing features like the gear upgrading system, Follower Dungeons, Plunderstorm, and MoP Remix.

Reflecting on Plunderstorm, Orlando fondly recalls how the experimental swing at something new paid off. From interacting with the community to leading Creator Royale events, his work pushed the boundaries of what WoW could offer.

As Orlando leaves Blizzard, he expresses gratitude for the mentors and colleagues who have supported him, and though his next move remains unknown, he is excited about what the future holds.

We wish him luck in his future endeavors.
