WoW’s social experience can sometimes be a quagmire to navigate through. The dreaded LFG particularly can reach Swamp of Sorrows levels of sucking bogs and stagnant marshlands. So it’s always great to see some wholesome stories from the community. And what better time to read a few than just after the holiday season, to bring your spirits up. And despite GarroshTV pretty much winning the role of literal Grandfather Winter with his giving away 20 million gold over 92 servers, there’s a lot more to see!
The probably named on opposite day MaliciousPeasant has an excellent story of humbleness and a gifted Vial of the Sands. The Vial even sparked a karma cycle and a pay-it-forward moment years later. It’s a highlight story of how one player’s interaction with others changed for the better.
Sometimes even a tiny amount of gold, by today’s standards at least, can stick with someone almost two decades after. As Salihe6677 can confirm.
Like a regular Grandfather Winter, 2Much2HandleNow, used to hand out bags full of goodies to players in the starting area. And not just during the Feast of Winter Veil, so even better than the Grandfather himself!
Heavenlyangle has a kindness personified story about his time in the Battle for Azeroth and the Nazjatar campaign. What’s even more wholesome is that they also received the Vial of the Sands for free, which just neatly ties into the whole pay it forward moment.
Lucky are the lower Mythic+ players who happen to run into morgoth_feanor and his tank friend. Like two Grandfather Winters they occasionally roam the lower keys, slay everything, give out the loot, and ride off into the sunset. It can’t get any more wholesomer than this, folks!
It’s also great to see all the positive player reactions, and the ways small acts of kindness changed their WoW perspective. So, don’t be a stranger, go bring someone a shot of goodwill, and pay it forward.
