Are you tired of people talking about how there’s nothing to do in WoW? Do you want the perfect retort? Well, this probably isn’t it! But it’s certainly a fun way to spend some time while doing Icecrown Citadel transmog and mount runs, earn some gold, and make some friends happy!
A Shadowmourne Baker’s Dozen
The incredibly appropriately named TrueButFunny went on a bit of a crafting spree. Many players have been sitting on a LOT of alts ever since the great alt leveling craze that was the Mists of Pandaria Remix limited-time event. You could easily get a max level alt in around an hour or so at the end there, with the insane cloak bonus XP and crazy dungeon clear times. Well, TrueButFunny found something to do with the 13 plate classes they leveled during the event!
As the many plate classes were doing Icecrown Citadel transmog runs anyway, TrueButFunny decided to also start the legendary weapon quest on each of them as well. And then… decided to also finish them all! While they didn’t keep track of the exact runs, they estimate it took between 143 and 156 runs to finish it all off in total, after getting Shadow’s Edge.
Why Though?
The initial start of the quest chains were basically along the lines of “why not, it’s along the way anyway” in conjunction with the transmog runs. However, that wouldn’t really be enough motivation to finish all those quests. This is where the generosity came in! After figuring out they could share some of the rewards for the questline, TrueButFunny went ahead and did it on those 13 characters!
The quests included the tricky Blood Infusion part. Basically you have to use some alt-inviting tricks to get it done solo, either through LFG shenanigans on some very fast alt+f4 moves. Here’s an example below.
Tabard of the Lightbringer and Reins of the Crimson Deathcharger are actually tradable and TrueButFunny gave a whole bunch of them to their friends upon completion of the questline! Outside of the charity aspect, there are also some other rewards received during the questline, and TrueButFunny cataloged them all. The tabard and mount would also probably go for a decent amount. You know, if you chose not to gift them to friends. The mount is around 180,000, while the tabard is 108K, according to Wowpricehub.
So the next time someone says there’s nothing to do in WoW… Well, you can always say “just go make 13 Shadowmournes”. And if you decide to make them (or, you know, one) you can check out our guide here.
