As Game Director Ion Hazzikostas hinted at the start of the teaser: “Speaking of home…”
The wait is over—player housing is coming to WoW! The community’s most-requested feature is finally becoming a reality.
Wait, REALLY?
Yes. Blizzard had a special tease ready at the end of today’s Warcraft Direct stream. It opened on an adventurer returning home and sitting down by the fire. As he moves through the house, see trophies and weapons on the walls. From Quel’Serrar to Bulwark of Azzinoth and Onyxia’s head (which he clearly stole from Stormwind) and more, this is truly a champion’s home!
At the end of the short tease, we see a mug with “Home Sweet Home” on it, driving the point (and tease) home.
There wasn’t any additional context or commentary given with the tease, but it’s pretty clear what it’s suggesting. We didn’t get any exact dates, but at least it’s not soon™!
When Are We Getting a Home?
The Midnight expansion is currently slated to be revealed in Summer 2025. We expect the expansion to be released in early 2026, most likely in February or March! Hopefully, the new player housing feature will be ready by then.
We got a small taste of player housing during Warlords of Draenor with Garrisons, but now it’s time for the real deal. We don’t know exactly how the system will work, so there’s plenty still up in the air about the feature. It seems pretty certain we’ll be getting some slots around the house for custom trophies and weapons, and there are even some toys and a training dummy in there!
So start thinking up your optimal house layout and what you’re putting on your walls!
