Preliminary War Within Season 2 Mythic+ DPS Log Rankings

Staff's Avatar by Staff

It’s time for a (slightly) early look at the Mythic+ numbers! The week isn’t done yet but we just had to take a look at where things stand after the big nerfs and dungeon changes! We’ve already seen the effect it’s all had on completion percentages from Nightstalker314’s article, but now it’s time to see how the specs are doing DPS-wise. Evokers do a switcheroo from top to bottom and vice-versa, an old king returns to the throne, and another is pretty close, so let’s dive in.

Warcraft Logs Points

The below logs are based on POINTS, and not actual damage or healing. This means that they log the timed completion for the specs, with higher keys getting more points, obviously. The time in which the dungeon is completed is also a factor. It is a much, much smaller factor, however. It grants only a few points for significantly faster completions compared to just any in-time finish. We’re also using the Normalized Aggregate Scores numbers, for clarity. This means that the top spec is marked as 100 and then the rest are ranked in relation to that peak point.

95th percentile DPS

You can’t keep Rogues down it seems as the LONG-time king has returned to the throne. Subtlety is ahead by a mile after being stuck at the bottom of the top 10 in the last patch. The Evokers are having a bit o’ fun with us as they (almost) switch spots in the most dramatic way possible. Augmentation moves the maximum amount of spots down as it goes from No.1 to dead-last, while Devastation moves up from dead-last into the No.2 spot. Wow.

Another staple of Mythic+ is back near the top as well with Fire trailing Balance in 4th, as the Druid remained generally stable compared to the end of last season. Shadow and Arms make big strides up as they were both near the bottom. Enhancement didn’t drop that far, only losing 4 spots, and staying ahead of Unholy, which actually drops a spot. Havoc is another big winner of the tuning and new dungeon rotation, rising to 9th from near the bottom. Beast Mastery and Survival pulled an Evoker and switch spots, as the pet spec is now in the top 10 while the melee fellow is in the bottom 3. Arcane is still at the bottom, same as last season, as it loses 1 spot to drop into the bottom 3.

All Percentiles

The generalist bracket sees Fire doing even better, moving past Balance. Subtlety is still on top but not by nearly as much. Unholy is also doing a lot better here, outshining Shadow, Enhancement, and Arms. Destruction makes it into the top 10, while we see Demonology around the middle of the pack and Affliction almost at the bottom.

Specific Keys

And finally here’s a look at some key… keys! From the early entry point to Mythic+ to the start of Gilded Crests and a (currently) very high key to get to.

We’ll be taking a better look at everything when the week is fully done. Until then, for even more in-depth data for each individual key head on over to Warcraft Logs. If you’re interested in more info on the specs themselves you can always check out our class guides and tier lists.
