Re-Clear Chaos and Final Phase Ansurek Progress: Nerub-ar Palace RWF Day 9

Staff's Avatar by Staff

EU re-clear day was interesting to say the least. We had some smooth runs and some very rough ones a as well, with a gap forming on Queen Ansurek. Speaking of the queen, she’s definitely no Silken Court, as even her phase 2 is extremely hard. That’s if you can jump over phase 1, that is.

A Tale of Two Re-Clears

So back to day 8 for NA guilds, as we have Liquid’s re-clear finishing up in the EU morning. As we already mentioned, they destroyed their second reset. Taking 1 pull on the first 5 bosses, dropping Broodtwister instantly as well, they were blasting. Ky’veza wasn’t a challenge either as she went down after 12, and the Silken Court were even easier at 9 pulls.

Then there was Echo’s run. While the first 4 bosses were fine, as expected, we already saw some trouble at No.5. Broodtwister wasn’t a disaster for them, but it did take an hour to clear. But Echo are a little notorious about their re-clear hiccups, so they had theirs at the worm, no biggie. Right? Ky’veza proved it was not, in fact, right. Echo took 39 pulls to take the Nexus-Princess down, spending over 4 hours on that boss alone. Luckily the Silken Court were still a couple of pushovers and only took 1 hour, so the queen was finally ready to be engaged properly.

Method started much later than usual due to their World 3rd maintenance shenanigans from the day before. And so they didn’t really get as much done, as they ended their day at Ky’veza, with 11 pulls on the boss and a 3% best. Will they manage to get her done in a Liquid amount of pulls or will they pull an Echo? They went off only two hours after their usual stopping time so they’re slowly getting back to their normal raid hours.

Ansur-block

Liquid and Echo went at the queen, and percentages don’t really matter at this stage. Basically, Ansurek gets brought down to around 65% before the first intermission and then she’s gone. The main chunk of progress was spent on getting phase 1 right, and as we started seeing phase 2, the real fight began to be clear. First let’s take a look at Echo’s best pull of the night, as they stopped at 40 pulls total and did not see into phase 2. Don’t worry, we’ll dive into the fight more later. For now just enjoy the chaos.

That was it for Echo’s night, as they once more called it early, which is now becoming standard for them (but they did start at 6 AM, so this one makes sense).

Then we were on to Liquid’s progress, and they got to see something new at least! The intermission and phase 2 are quite something, from the DPS check to the insane adds on the platforms. But first, let’s take a look at the main killer of phase 1, as the poison pool popping and nova jumping has to be done sequentially on Mythic, making extremely tight moves like this happen. Keep an eye out on that third nova in particular:

So, if you survive the nova, the leaping into the air, the silk threads that one-shot you, the root, the acid globe-waves, the entire room filling up with webs and poison, etc, etc, you get treated to the intermission. This is where the queen moves to the middle and a pretty intense DPS check to break the absorb shield happens. Let’s see what a clean phase 1 and intermission look like:

Phase 2, Aka the Platforms

So that was a preeetty short phase 2. Luckily we did get to see further into the phase, with even more new adds added on Mythic.

The first platform isn’t that much of a problem, but that second one is a little intense. The amount of adds, the incoming damage and the cast that needs to be interrupted on that worshiper on the edge of the platform all add up to many, many wipes. We actually haven’t seen past this point, but the next platform should be the queen and phase 3. Here’s another more recent solid pull, with some explanations added:

Then there’s this pretty solid P2 pull as well:

During the final push before the end of their day they managed to reach the third platform! After that it’s straight to a back to DPSing Ansurek phase 3, which we did get to see a bit of.

The Final Phase

Soon after, we actually got to see phase 3! There aren’t that many changes from Heroic, but the cast sequence is definitely different, faster, and more scary. 61.7% was the new best, at pull 138.

That’s pretty much the amount of progress that Liquid got in their 140 or so pulls. They got a lot better at that phase 2, surviving longer and longer on the second platform. Phase 3 tries will also become more plentiful tomorrow, and we can’t wait!

Here’s a look at the pretty stable raid composition ever since pull 5:

As usual, to see what happens in real-time, you can always check the coverage streams (Liquid, Echo, Method), or head on over to Raider.IO for live text coverage, clips, analysis and more.
