Reputation Reset Bug Still Active Since War Within Pre-Patch and Players Are Not Happy

There’s plenty of bugs that get dragged around for a long time and this one’s no exception. And while “since the pre-patch” isn’t a huge amount of time quite yet, the reputation-resetting bug is problematic enough that it’s already too much.

An Unfixed Bug and a Wanted Mount

There was a bug during The War Within pre-patch that made reputations behave like a yoyo – some of the paragon reputations would roll back to neutral if you filled the paragon bar. It’s as if Blizzard coded the game to say, “Oh, you wanted rewards? Let me take that away real quick.”

EasyEntertainment343 was grinding Manapearls for Unshackled Nazjatar reputation, to get theUnshackled Waveray iconUnshackled Waveray mount. Normally, this wouldn’t be an issue – grinding is part of the game, right? – but the reputation bug threw a wrench into the plans. Despite months passing since the launch, the bug remains unfixed, leaving players stuck in reputation purgatory.

After filling the paragon reputation bar, their reputation reset to neutral, effectively undoing their progress and locking them out of rewards. Since all the main quests are already completed, they couldn’t regain their reputation. This led to growing frustration with Blizzard’s inability (or outright refusal) to manually fix the issue, despite multiple tickets to customer support.

A Hope for Resolution

The grind isn’t just about mounts or titles. It’s about the satisfaction of seeing progress and hard work pay off. For many players, these achievements represent dedication and time invested in the game they love. Here’s hoping Blizzard addresses this issue soon, allowing players to finally claim the rewards they’ve earned without watching their reputations vanish into the void. Until then, the GMs have left the chat.
