Solo Level 1 to 80 Record on Live Servers in Under 3 Hours!

Here’s a crazy leveling run with a pretty handy leveling route as well! Harldan just keeps pushing those leveling speed boundaries. He managed to push through the 3-hour barrier with his most recent run, so let’s take a look!

Sub-3 Hours With Alliance

First off, this was done on live servers. No speedruns will ever be able to match the insane sped we saw during Mists of Pandaria Remix, with sub-30 minute times. Maybe Legion Remix will be able to beat it. For now, we have the full leveling run video below, with a whole lot of explanation on everything happening. The start is especially interesting. There’s a massive amount of items flooding from the mail and being bound to a crazy number of keybinds for fast use. He actually starts in Elwynn and skips the Allied Race free 10 levels. There’s even some fumbling at the very beginning, so even the pros can get rattled!

This is an actual speed run, so don’t expect that you can level this quickly yourselves. That is, unless you do the huge extra amount of work needed to get it done, like farming a ton of consumables, toys, special items, Hearthstones etc. There’s the usual engineering stuff like rocket boots and gliders, as well as the fancy Cracked Radinax Control Gem iconCracked Radinax Control Gem and a whole lot more.

Harldan managed to beat his 1-80 record by an hour and his 70-80 record by 1 minute. Another interesting note is that the run is done on live servers. Why is that noteworthy? Well, usually it’s better to do them on the PTR so you don’t waste all the very valuable consumables, since you can just character copy them over for the next run! So this one had some proper cost to it, and was done to avoid PTR instability/bugs.

The Route

First off, he’s taking this on with a Windwalker Monk, using Zen Pilgrimage iconZen Pilgrimage and the spec’s high mobility to great effect. For the first levels, he sticks to Classic. The route goes through Elwynn Forest and Redridge Mountains until level 20. Then it’s time to toggle Chromie Time Warlords of Draenor on the way to use it later, while continuing leveling in Duskwood, Redridge, Loch Modan and Wetlands until level 61. Then it’s crafting XP time, finishing off the 1-70 run with the WoD intro questline. That part took 1 hours and 55 minutes. And then it’s off to The War Within, which took the rest of the 2 hour 59 minute run.

And let’s not forget, the Winds of Mysterious Fortune bonus XP event is still up. Not to mention Darkmoon Faire was also available! That’s a whole lot of extra XP, probably even more than the 85% we managed to add it all up to.

So congratulations to Harldan and let’s see if he can get that number even lower!
