The Bounce-Back! Player Numbers Increase in This Week’s War Within Season 1 Mythic+ Runs Per Week!

Staff's Avatar by Staff

We’re back to Mythic+ with Zmiecer and a look at some player engagement stats! It’s the number of full group runs, both timed and untimed, from Raider.IO that we’re checking out once again, and there’s some good news this week.

The Bounce

There’s been a significant uptick in player runs, especially big, if you consider the Season 1 trajectory so far. It seems the dungeon tuning and especially the Gilded Crest changes (having them come from lower-level keys) did the trick. We have around 80,000 more runs than the previous week which, again, is pretty impressive since we were losing around 300,000 per week before!

And here’s an explanation on why the main comparison chart is only focusing on Dragonflight Season 4 (although we have more charts to take a look at which do take all the data into consideration):

“The main chart compares with DF S4 only as it’s the only other season we had after the Mythic+ Squish. Mythic+ Squish was a change that removed old 1-10 keystone levels. Current M0 is on the same difficulty level as old +10 and current +2 is the same as old +11. More on the squish
We also had no Delves before TWW S1, so it’s still not a good comparison. We will have a better comparison point when we reach TWW S2.” – Zmiecer

The Larger Comparison

It wouldn’t be Zmiecer if we didn’t get even more data and comparisons! So for those of you interested in the full stats picture, despite the large differences in Mythic+ key structure, let’s dive into the other charts.

First off there’s the normalized one that takes the first season and week of the expansion as baseline and then charts the changes as relating to that:

And then the more conventional look at all the seasons, with the actual run numbers included:

Some awesome stuff as usual, and now a standard weekly stop for us! Head on over to the reddit thread and thank Zmiecer if you liked the charts.
