Following the devastating fall of Dalaran, the Kirin Tor face a critical moment of introspection and decision-making. In the two-chapter Patch 11.0.7 questline, players will join the mages of this once-great council as they struggle to rebuild and redefine their purpose.
The first quest called Survivor’s Guilt can be picked up at Khadgar in Dornogal. In the quest, Khadgar shares his feelings about Dalaran’s destruction, specifically referencing Aethas and their shared hardships. Khadgar, feeling weighed down by his age and experiences, reflects on the harm caused by Xal’atath.
Aethas Sunreaver affected by these events, has returned to the crash site of Dalaran, the location of a traumatic event. Khadgar mentions that Aethas has been unable to sleep or eat since arriving there. Though Aethas seeks Khadgar’s support, Khadgar finds himself unable to confront the emotional burden of visiting the site. Instead, he asks the player to go in his place and check on Aethas.
Aethas Sunreaver can be found in the Tranquil Stand.
Aethas stands amidst the ruins of Dalaran, visibly grieving the destruction around him. Dalaran, once a beacon of magic mastery and unity, has been reduced to rubble and ashes-again, a result of Xal’atath’s destructive influence. Aethas expresses the sorrow of losing friends, silenced by the chaos. However, he steels himself, determined to move forward despite the overwhelming grief. The quest objective is to help Aethas gather the remaining Kirin Tor mages by sending messages to the survivors in Tranquil Stand.
Aethas next wants you to gather reagents to cast a protective spell in the Tranquil Stand.
Once the barrier is up, Kalecgos arrives to the scene. He sees how devastated Aethas is and wants to help him.
You help Kalecgos retrieve stolen Dalaran relics from mischievous kobolds. Then you will end up in a Pocket Dimension with Kel’Thuzad.
Upon solving a puzzle, Archmage Kel’Thuzad helps you leave the Pocket Dimension.
Upon returning to the Tranquil Isle, you regroup with Kalec and find Jaina there as well!
At this point, the first chapter of the questline is complete. During the first quest, Jaina asks you to help her free trapped Mages from the portals.
Jaina reveals that during the Nerubian assault on Dalaran, several precious relics were stolen, including a powerful Mana Bomb. She opens a portal to Azj-Kahet, where the bomb is located, and you arrive just in time to prevent a catastrophe by successfully defusing it.
You return to the Tranquil Stand for one last time and place relics of the fallen on boats that are sent off flying in the air. You see Jaina, Kalecgos, Khadgar, and Aethas and other members now reunited. This is a very special moment for the Kirin Tor because they let go of the very grim past to embrace the future.
Completing the questline earns you the 
Fate of the Kirin Tor achievement.
