No great game world comes without good music, and Azeroth is no different. From the newest jazz flute in Undermine, to the Kazoo Inn Music from Pandaria, and the now-legendary ambient soundscapes of Vanilla WoW. Even the Shadowlands gets some musical love here, we know it doesn’t get it much elsewhere. So dive with us into some of the community’s favorite musical landscapes!
A Musical Journey
CamronReeseCups votes for Mists of Pandaria as the overall winner, and no one can argue with Vanilla being iconic after this many years. In no small part thanks to Jason Hayes, who produced and brought to life many of the original WoW areas.
BlackFinch90 is a staunch supporter of the Kazoo Inn Music from Pandaria, and we can’t disagree. There’s something inherently happy, and uplifting for your soul in there.
ImmortanJoeMama, and more than a few others are enjoyers of The Burning Crusade music. This expansion has a great name behind it as well. This time it’s Matt Uelmen of the Diablo and Diablo II fame who’s the mastermind behind the surreal soundscapes of Outland.
The Warlords of Draenor is getting a lot of love in this discussion, with This_Hope3310 spotlighting Orc music, and a few others particularly mentioning the Iron Docks. We’ll admit the chorus tingles down our spines.
Legion seems to be another major contender for the best expansion music. One piece stands out here for many, evoking heavy nostalgia. It’s the Canticle of Sacrifice, which plays at the Lion’s Rest in Stormwind.
And last, but not least, is Boralus from the Battle for Azeroth, which many find uplifting in spirit. The home of the Proudmoore fleet deserves some epic music, and Blizzard delivers.
Everyone has their favorite soundtrack, we can’t possibly cover them all, and there’s no shortage of great mentions in the discussion. From Gilneas, Grizzly Hills, and Waycrest Manor, to the Azure Span, and yes, even the Shadowlands, we mentioned already.
