One of the most frequent posts over the years over on r/wow has been many players commenting on the crooked alignment of the blue rug leading to Varian’s memorial, Wolf’s Rest, in Stormwind.
There are many variations on the post, but the most common meme for it is how the game is unplayable due to this fact. Many other misaligned rugs and decorations have led to this same conclusion, but this one is among the top.
Yesterday FiresideCatsmile noticed that the alignment was actually perfect!
However, it seems the rug has led quite the life. Players are reporting that they’ve seen it in all sorts of conditions. From the misaligned one, to the corrected one, and even entirely gone! Whether it’s a phasing issue or just constant changes to this one tiny little detail is unclear. What is clear is that the WoW community is certainly having fun with this detail. It’s already been blamed for the recent server issues, there’s rumors that the straight one is just a replacement while the old crooked one is being washed (it is outdoors after all), and all manner of similarly hilarious theories.
