This week’s 11.0.7 PTR build brought a nice little surprise in its calendar, as Turbulent Timeways returns!
What Is the Turbulent Timeways Event?
Turbulent Timeways is a multi week-spanning Timewalking event. Each week a different expansion’s Timewalking is enabled. It’s been around twice now, with different durations and featuring different expansions.
What Were/Are the Rewards?
Blizzard announced a brand new mount reward for the event, the Timely Buzzbee Skyriding mount! No visuals were provided, but we’re assuming it’s a… bee.
It’s unclear if all the rewards from previous events will be returning. Regardless of that, let’s take a look at what was available so far, just in case. A weekly Heroic cache is available every week, but it’s of a higher item level than regular Timewalking ones. In addition to that, players could also get 
Distilled Knowledge of Timeways by completing Timewalking dungeons. The XP buff stacks up to 30%. Players could also earn the Sandy Shalewing mount by completing the 
Master of the Turbulent Timeways achievement. However, with the Buzzbee being explicitly announced, it’s likely that it will replace the Shalewing as the achievement reward this time around.

When Is It Returning?
It seems we’re getting a whole lot of Timewalking starting on January 7th! However, it seems we’re getting an extended version of the event. The end date is marked as February 25th, making it a 7-week-long affair.
Previous Turbulent Timeways events lasted 6 weeks and then 5, so this would be the longest one yet!
Which Expansions Will it Feature?
The first event featured the following expansions, in order: Cataclysm, Mists of Pandaria, Warlords of Draenor, Legion, Burning Crusade, Wrath of the Lich King. The second event skipped WoD and re-ordered the expansions. Considering we have Vanilla Timewalking available at the moment for the anniversary event, we should see it added to the original six to make up the seven weeks the event will be up. There’s also the four new Timewalking vendor mounts that were found for Legion, MoP, WoD and Cata, which you can check out here.
It will be interesting to see whether we get a new meta-achievement mount on top of the shalewing. In any case it will be an exciting time, so gather up your 
Timewarped Badges if you need anything from those expansions!
