In Patch 11.1, Blizzard introduces a brand-new affix for delves, aiming to improve gameplay with more dynamic challenges. Here’s what you need to know.
Season 1 Learnings
In The War Within Season 1, Blizzard experimented with two affixes: one where Zek’vir’s image would empower players, and another where select spawn groups would be replaced by Zek’vir’s minions. Blizzard isn’t happy with how the Zek’vir image affix played out, because it wasn’t noticeable, what it does. Meanwhile, Zek’vir’s minions felt too punishing.
What’s Changing in Season 2?
In Season 2, the affixes focus on Underpin’s minions occasionally replacing normal enemies in delves across all tiers. While they offer an increase in difficulty, they won’t cause your delve run to be over when you encounter them.
When you start a delve, you will see how many minions you will encounter during your run.
Minion Distribution by Tier
- Tier 1-5 delves will have 1 Underpin minion.
- Tier 6 and above have 2 Underpin’s minions.
- There’s a possibility higher tiers will have more of Underpin’s minions, but we haven’t unlocked these ranks yet on the PTR.
These are usually Goblin-themed NPCs in areas where you would find normal spawns.
When you defeat a pack, you will see a message appear informing you about the upgraded Nemesis Strongbox.
Nemesis Strongbox
Defeating a group of Underpin minions upgrades the Nemesis Strongbox found in the treasure room, providing additional rewards at the end of the delve.
The Nemesis Strongbox contains gold and crafting materials.
