Everyone’s favorite bot-buster is back, exposing how botting mafias work.
For those of you who don’t know who Madskillzzhc is, he has a channel where he takes down bots in Classic Hardcore. He recently shared a video explaining how he received death threats and decided to quit doing so for his own safety. You can check out our full breakdown here.
Why Is He Coming Back?
What Madskillzzhc experienced back then was nothing short of the worst two days of his life. He soon realized, however, that the threats – sent through YouTube comments, Discord, and even his personal WhatsApp – were empty. His initial fear was that these botting mafias had significant resources to retaliate, but that didn’t stop him for long. He’s back, ready to expose what 99.9% of players – and perhaps even Blizzard – don’t know!
Meeting the Swedish Botter: How It All Happened
Madskillzzhc received a strange message from a Swedish botter who wanted to expose everything:
“I want to show you something that will make you really angry.”
During a Discord call, the botter revealed that he personally operated six bots – five on Hardcore servers and one on Era servers. These six bots netted him $2,000 per month after covering subscription fees and electricity costs.
Using a two-PC setup, he manages his bots efficiently. One PC is for personal use and gaming, while the other monitors all six bots, allowing him to manually intervene if something goes wrong. But this was just the tip of the iceberg. What he revealed next was pretty mind-blowing.
A Botting Mafia
These guys are botting in a bunch of games such as WoW, PoE, Diablo 3 and 4. They are running 12,000 bots (in WoW only), if the Swedish guy gets 2,000$ you can only imagine what kind of money this makes.
They utilize a cloud-based setup to control bots remotely, often from different countries. For example, bots appearing to operate from Europe might actually be controlled from Taiwan.
The bots are organized into packs of 1,000, each using privately developed botting software. Every pack has a uniquely mutated version of the software, making it hard for Blizzard’s detection systems to track or compare them.
How Do They Keep Coming Back?
The core issue is that when Blizzard’s Warden system detects a botting software, it triggers ban waves. However, these waves only occur every 4-6 months and typically ban just 1,000 bots at a time.
The botting mafia is prepared for this. They keep 1,000 fresh accounts ready with updated software to replace the banned bots. This means their operation can resume within a day or two, making Blizzard’s efforts only a temporary setback. To put it in perspective: Warden bans about 10% of WoW bots during a ban wave, or a mere 1–2% of the mafia’s entire botting operation across all games.
How Much Can They Make Per Month?
The Swedish botter revealed that six bots can generate about $2,000, or roughly $333 per bot. Even using a conservative estimate of $250 per bot, their 12,000 bots in WoW alone are generating an astonishing $3 million per month.
After deducting operating costs – such as subscriptions, cloud services, and maintenance – estimated at $1 million, they still pocket a $2 million monthly profit.
Madskillzzhc’s Mission Continues
Madskillzzhc praised Blizzard for their efforts in banning reported bots but acknowledged that many remain undetected. The scale of the operation makes it clear that Blizzard still has a long way to go. To conclude everything he stated: “I’m not going anywhere – the show goes on baby”. For many players, he remains a hero, tirelessly working to get every bot banned, one by one.
