War Within Season 1 Mythic+ DPS, Tank and Healer Log Rankings, Day 1: Old Faces at the Top

Staff's Avatar by Staff

Mythic+ has arrived and players had at least 1 day in each region to take the dungeons for a spin! We’re taking a VERY PRELIMINARY look at all the roles and specs. We have some oldies but goodies at the top, some new faces moving on up, and some surprising ones at the bottom, so let’s take a look!

Warcraft Logs Points

The below logs are based on POINTS, and not actual damage or healing. This means that they log the timed completion for the specs, with higher keys getting more points, obviously. The time in which the dungeon is completed is also a factor. It is a much, much smaller one, as it grants very few points if you do it significantly faster than just any in-time completion. We’re also using the Normalized Aggregate Scores numbers, for clarity. This means that the top spec is marked as 100 and then the rest are ranked in relation to that peak point.

95th percentile DPS

Well, the War Within changed a lot! However, a very old king has returned to the throne, and the previous ruler hasn’t gone anywhere either. Subtlety is back on top after dominating for a giant amount of expansions (while also being in the bottom 3 last season). Meanwhile, the last few seasons’ No.1, Augmentation, is right there beside it. We do see a major new player, as Enhancement is the top dog in raids and in dungeons it seems, even after its recent tuning. Outlaw joins the top spot party, also coming out of a low spot in the pre-patch, while Balance is looking as solid as ever. Frost DK is another really good raid pick that also works well in dungeons it seems, and Devastation is reminding everyone there are two DPS Evoker specs! Arcane and Fury are lower down in the dungeons but still doing well, with Havoc and Affliction sandwiched between them. The bottom 3 sees a strange combination, as Beast Mastery is joined by Arms and Fire.

All Percentiles

Outlaw takes down Enhancement for 3rd and is actually getting pretty close to Aug as well. Frost DK is doing quite a lot better here as well, joined by Arcane right behind it. Balance is pushed down as a result. Devastation remains pretty stable, and Affliction one-ups Havoc, just ahead of Marksmanship which closes out the top 10.

All Percentiles Tank

DKs are having a great start to the expansion, as Blood rises to the very top, at least in these opening few days! Brewmaster is in the exact same spot as the pre-patch, with Guardian joining the Monk and DK in moving past former god-of-tanking, Vengeance. The DH will probably make a return though. Warrior beats Paladin in the Protection-off, putting the pink one at the bottom.

Healer (Points)

Healers also see a big shift, as Discipline literally goes from last to first! The other Priest isn’t doing so well, as Holy drops to the penultimate spot, down from 2nd. Shaman is doing fine, only dropping one and probably eyeing Disc’s top spot as well. Preservation is also doing great, with some very high HPS here and in the raid! Paladain stays stable in the middle, but both Monk and Druid find themselves a lot lower than before the expansion.
