War Within Season 2 Mythic+ DPS, Tank, and Healer Log Rankings, Week 1

Staff's Avatar by Staff

We see a lot of changes since the preliminary look we had a while ago! The specs are very even in the top but two old dominating specs are back and… uh, dominating. We’re taking a look at all roles in this first week of Season 2, so let’s dive in.

Warcraft Logs Points

The below logs are based on POINTS, and not actual damage or healing. This means that they log the timed completion for the specs, with higher keys getting more points, obviously. The time in which the dungeon is completed is also a factor. It is a much, much smaller factor, however. It grants only a few points for significantly faster completions compared to just any in-time finish. We’re also using the Normalized Aggregate Scores numbers, for clarity. This means that the top spec is marked as 100 and then the rest are ranked in relation to that peak point.

95th percentile DPS

While Subtlety is still king of the hill, we see so many specs almost identical in the top percentiles! The biggest change since the early numbers is Devastation going way down, dropping from 2nd all the way to 11th. Balance and Fire grab that bump from the missing Evoker, and Enhancement makes an even bigger comeback in 4th, rising three spots. Unholy takes down Shadow, as Arms drops a few spots, and Havoc rises. Elemental is back after the little accidental 25% nerf snafu that Blizzard hotfixed, and Demonology closes out the top 10. The bottom 3 are the same, with Augmentation recovering a little, but still very much in last place.

All Percentiles

We’re all the way back to the kings of old here, as Subtlety and Fire reign supreme once more. It will be a battle for the ages this season, as the two premiere Mythic+ specs duke it out for supremacy. Balance is laying low in 3rd, and Devastation only dropped two spots to 4th here.

Tanks

Vengeance is back on top! We have a bit of a complete turnaround as the bottom two specs from the previous patch are now on top. Paladins stay strong and only get pushed down to 3rd, with Warriors in the middle, while Brewmaster is the biggest loser of the patch.

Healers

Healers didn’t quite change as much patch to patch, as Disc is still very much at the top. Mistweaver moves one up and past Shaman, Paladin and Druid are still in the middle, and Evoker and Holy Priest at the bottom.

U.gg Raw DPS Rankings by Hero Talent Tree

The raw DPS numbers are quite different, as Devastation is on top by a solid margin, ahead of Unholy. We even see Retribution show up in 4th, with Rogues also doing better.

We’ll be taking a better look at everything when the week is fully done. Until then, for even more in-depth data for each individual key head on over to Warcraft Logs. If you’re interested in more info on the specs themselves you can always check out our class guides and tier lists.
