AttitudeAdjusterSE is back to their Mythic+ run-tracking endeavors, based on Raider.IO data! This time around we get only the normalized chart, where we can see the dropoff from week to week compared to the very first one of the season.
An Uptick, but Still Pretty Much the Second-Worst
As we can see this past week actually brought an increase in activity compared to the previous three. However, the 70.5% smaller number of players doing keys is still basically the second-worst out of all seasons since Dragonflight. DF S2 is slightly worse, but only by 0.4%. Also, since these are percentages relative to the first season, the new key system isn’t a factor, so the comparison to the older seasons is very much warranted.
To be fair, the 70% mark in week 16 is pretty much where Seasons 2 and 3 of Dragonflight converge, and only Season 1 did significantly better. For reference, the first week of TWW had 2,474,083 runs.
Blizzard are very much aware of the issues, as Game Director Ion Hazzikostas recently talked to PC Gamer about what they’re planning to do to address the Mythic+ drop-off. We’ll see how the Season 2 changes affect the trend, and just how low we’ll go by the end of Season 1.
