While the main star of the past few days of the War Within, Delves and their bugs/tuning, isn’t the primary focus here, this one’s also Delve-related!
A Faulty Memory
The Worldsoul Memory World event seems to be bugged at the moment, at least in one specific difficulty/mode. Players have been reporting issues with it for a while now. The problem is around the version where you spend 5 of the Bountiful Delve-dropped Radiant Echoes. The event is supposed to scale its rewards based on how many you place. 1 Echo yields the lowest rewards, 5 more and 10 the most. Well, the middle option is not working out great for some players.
As reported by plenty of players over the past week, the rewards for 5-Echo runs sometimes simply give out far, FAR less than they should. The rewards for the event are key fragments for Bountiful Delves (Coffer Key Shard) and Valorstones. A well-scored 5-Echo event should reward around 200 fragments (which adds up to two keys) and around 400 Valorstones. However, players have been reporting as little as 30 key fragments and 50 Valorstones received. Their scores are similar, or even better than that of players receiving the much larger numbers.
So it seems something is bugged, but it’s very unclear what. The rewards received in the bugged runs seem to be equivalent to a 1-Echo run, so perhaps the event simply isn’t registering the correct difficulty/mode. Whatever the case may be, that’s a lot of Echoes spent in vain! We’ve seen Blizzard recently compensate players that did not receive Runed Harbinger Crests from Tier 8 Delves. So perhaps this bug could get retroactively awarded as well? We’ll just have to wait and see
Whatever happens, just skip the 5-Echo events for now. Either go for the single ones or save up for the big 10-Echo bonanza (but definitely find a good group to get a solid score if you do)!
