Was the New Trader’s Gilded Brutosaur Supposed to ALSO Have a Bank?

Ever since the new (and very controversial) $90 brutosaur mount was released there has been speculation going around on whether it was actually intended to have even more features. The fact that it has a mailbox on it already puts it above the old bruto. So is it possible it had another quality of life feature on it at some point?

That Damned Chest

The brutosaur is very nicely adorned. From the golden saddle to the sculptures, and of course the gems that each symbolize one of WoW’s expansions (all of which you can check out here). However, there’s one detail that’s been poking players in the eye: that big ol’ chest.

It’s a VERY conspicuous little detail to just randomly put there for decoration, no? So, is it possible it was indeed originally meant to be a bank, further justifying the very large cost of the mount? Considering what a big deal the mailbox was and how poorly the community reacted to it, Blizzard may have removed the bank for fear of an even bigger negative reaction. And that would definitely have happened if the mount was also a bank. The impact it would have had on the game would have been much higher than the mailbox. So if it was ever planned, it was definitely a good call to remove it. But why leave the chest there?

What do you think? Is it just a decorative element? Was it supposed to be a bank or perhaps something else?
