Bag space. You can never have enough of it, right? We’ve already covered what downright weird, even atrocious things players carry in their bags. Mostly for quest purposes, of course.
There’s another weird category of inventory space hoggers. Unusable items. Drichatx was wondering what players carry in their bags that triggers a certain hard to get rid of emotional baggage. For them, it seems to be remnants of past BlizzCons and Worldwide Invitationals. Hope that egg doesn’t sour in there.
The Horseman’s Reins are still a very coveted item to this day, with an abysmal drop chance. Most players never see it, but Ok_Seaworthiness7314 keeps a spare one in the bags they can’t use because they already got the mount. That’s some luck, and some players are quick to notice. And appropriately laugh maniacally.
Remember the time ranged weapons required ammo? Burtenotbert and JesSumGuy1 certainly do. Carrot on a Stick can’t be fired from ranged weapons, but it’s still a great nostalgia item to develop an unhealthy attachment to.
-Laffi- and -Neverender- are real hoarders, with -Laffi- even filling their entire bank with unusable nostalgia items. Now that’s some hardcore dedication to preserving WoW history.
Here’s a jewel of unusable and weird items from Bacon-muffin, perfectly combining nostalgia and old quest gruesomeness. A Severed Night Elf Head) from the original Alterac Valley battleground.
And to round us off are Reins of the Raven Lord, another very rare mount drop which can be acquired by Hunters in a different way. ForTheLastTime- spent forever farming it, probably always thinking “just this last time”. When they got surprise dropped with another Reins after deciding to tame the mount, they decided to keep it.
There are plenty more unusable items in WoW, considering we’ve recently celebrated 20 years of it, and players still keep many of them in their bags and vaults. From Thunderfury materials, and Barov Peasant Caller, to
Haunted Mementos, and
Mallets of Zul’Farrak.
What do you keep in your inventory?
