Many years have passed, many adventures have come and gone in Azeroth, and most of us have a favorite place or a zone where we just like to chill. Granted, not many of us would probably stake a claim to a cave in the Throne of Kil’jaeden (any version), but plenty would likely till the fields in the Valley of the Four Winds.
ActualBudKnight was also wondering where players would call it day, and the community was more than willing to answer. So let’s take a look if some of the answers might surprise us.
A Place to Hang Your Boots
The absolute top comment comes from a Handful_of_Brakes, with a Little House on the Prairie vibe, the Elwynn Forest variant. Now that’s a perfect secluded spot to retire.

The Valley of the Four Winds shouldn’t surprise anyone as a top location to gaze at sunsets in your retirement days. Along with some of the best food and drinks in all of Azeroth.

Nagrand (Outland version) also seems to be quite a popular soft spot for many players. Although, technically, it’s not on Azeroth. But let’s not be too picky.

Drustvar might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but we can’t argue there’s a certain charm to the crazy witches and cat ladies variety. Watch out for the cults in hiding though.

Boralus also seems to draw many players, as a large town worth visiting, roaming, and eventually sticking around. It’s far enough from Drustvar, for players who aren’t fans, and it really is a great place once you kick Lady Ashvane out.

Let’s end with the “simple man” pleasures, as ext3meph34r succinctly puts it. The Black Temple offers more than a few delights of the earthly form. There’s even some extra reading included. We won’t judge.

There are plenty more of players’ favorite retirement spots in the discussion. It has 2.7k upvotes and over 1000 comments. So if you’ve got a favorite spot worth mentioning, sound off, and share your first choice for gazing at the sun and stars. Or other forms of delight.
