WoW Players May Already Have Midnight Season 2’s Start Date

Patch 12.0.7 may be close on the horizon, but the biggest question already is “When is Midnight Season 2?” We are likely looking at an early August release date, but let’s look at the hints Blizzard has left us.

First Hint: Patch Cycles

For the last few seasons, Blizzard has stuck closely to an 8-week patch cycle, resulting in a 24-week season cycle, with only a few exceptions. Looking at release data for Midnight and Patch 12.0.5, we have the following dates:

• Midnight launched on March 3rd -> +24 weeks -> August 18th
• Patch 12.0.5 launched on April 21st -> +16 weeks -> August 11th
• Patch 12.0.7 will likely launch on or before June 16th -> +8 weeks -> August 11th

Second Hint: Turbulent Timeways

Blizzard recently changed the schedule for the next Turbulent Timeways on PTR. Whereas it was previously scheduled to run from June 16th to August 30th, it now runs from June 30th until August 11th. This change reinforces a more set-in-stone schedule for the event and the likely tentative date for Season 2.

As we’ve seen in previous seasons, most Turbulent Timeways end either the day before or a week before a season launches.
