Tips/Tricks
- You will not be able to see the second checkpoint of the race easily, but you will need to fly through the building to get to it. Be careful not to hit the ground.
- There are multiple points in the race where the trees make seeing the next checkpoint quite difficult. Pay attention to the arrow going from your current checkpoint to the next one to know where to fly to next.
- Before the race begins place your Bronze Timelock inside the building. As you hit the penultimate checkpoint use the ability to avoid needing to navigate inside the building at the end.
- Advanced Only: You should have more than enough Vigor during this race to just spam Surge Forward for the entire race.

This race is shown as 3 on the map at the top of this page. Alternatively you can use the script below to place an in game map pin. Simply copy and paste the script below in game to have a pin added to your world map:
- /script DEFAULT_CHAT_FRAME:AddMessage("24cffffff0024Hworldmap:2023:4374:6676.00000000000124h[24A:Waypoint-MapPin-ChatIcon:13:13:0:024a River Rapids Route Map Pin]24h24r");

---|---|---|
Bronze | Complete the race. | Complete the race. |
Silver | 51 seconds | 46 seconds |
Gold | 48 seconds | 43 seconds |
Tips/Tricks
- The entire course is very close to the ground. Be careful to not touch the ground as you will land and lose all momentum.
- There are multiple points in the race where the trees make seeing the next checkpoint quite difficult. Pay attention to the arrow going from your current checkpoint to the next one to know where to fly to next.
- The first half of the race does not have many Wind Boosts so you will need to be considerate of your Vigor and be ready to use Surge Forward to maintain Thrill of the Skies.
- Advanced Only: There are plenty of Vigor nodes throughout the race but you will need to collect a couple out of the way ones to maintain Thrill of the Skies. There is one just after the fourth checkpoint to the right of it above the rocks. There is another just as you reach the waterfall section directly below you.

Medal | Timer Normal | Timer Advanced |
---|---|---|
Bronze | Complete the race. | Complete the race. |
Silver | 66 seconds | 59 seconds |
Gold | 63 seconds | 56 seconds |
Tips/Tricks
- This race starts off on the ground and you need to Skyward Ascent to get to the first checkpoint. The Wind Boost on the ground in front of you can safely be ignored as you will lose the momentum gained from it by needing to fly up.
- Most of this race is ascending with very few Wind Boosts so you will need to be mindful of your Vigor usage and use it to maintain speed.
- Advanced Only: Good angles are necessary here to maintain speed and have Vigor left over for the end of the race where there will be no Vigor nodes.
- Advanced Only:Place your Bronze Timelock down before you start the race to save a few seconds on the long descent to the finish checkpoint.

- The timer on this is fairly lenient with a fully upgraded drake.
- If you opt to go left first, after collecting the first ring in front of you, use Skyward Ascent instead of collecting the Vigor Node as there is a ring right above you.

Collect ring 4 and 5, head to the middle and Skyward Ascent to collect ring 6. Turn left to ring 7. Turn right to ring 8 and skyward ascend as you reach ring 9 to go back to the start.
- Strategy Two (Riskier, but faster. requires Windborne Velocidrake): Collect the first ring in front of you and immediately turn right and go through the hut. Collect the ring on the other side, and go around the outside of the area to collect rings 4, 5, 6. Collect the final 3 rings from the middle and use Bronze Timelock to return to the start.
