Player Housing Introduction
The Midnight expansion is bringing one of the most anticipated feature to World of Warcraft: player housing. This new addition will allows players to create and customize their own living spaces within the game, adding a new layer of immersion and personalization.
In this guide, we will break down everything we know so far about player housing, including customization options, wall trophies, functionality, and what is yet to be revealed.
What We Know So Far
Blizzard has posted a teaser video of player housing during the Warcraft 30th Anniversary Direct, where we got a first look at the new feature and potential features.

Housing Customization Options
Player housing will offer various ways to personalize your space. Based on the available screenshots, here are some confirmed customization options:
- Trophies: Players can display iconic in-game items as trophies, such as Onyxia's Head, Bulwark of Azzinoth (shield), and Quel'Sellar (sword), on walls.
- Furniture and Decorations: The teaser trailer shows beds and tables for a cozy atmosphere. We also noticed target dummies, and shelves filled with books, candles, and other items.
- Lightning: We see a fireplace and a chair in the trailer.
Functional Elements
Apart from customizations, player housing might offer some practical uses, including:
- Rested XP Bonus: Similar to inns, resting in your home could provide XP boosts.
- Storage Options: Player housing has potential for access to your bank and other storage.
What We Do Not Know Yet
Several aspects of the player housing system remain unclear.
- Location and Accessibility: Will houses be instanced, or part of existing zones? Can players choose from different regions to build their homes?
- Customization Depth: How much freedom will players have in terms of customization? Will there be different themes available based on races or classes?
- Guild Housing: Will guilds have shared spaces for group activities?
Comparing Player Housing to Warlords of Draenor's Garrisons
Blizzard's first attempt of player housing in World of Warcraft were Garrisons, introduced in the Warlords of Draenor expansion. Perhaps, Blizzard will build upon them when designing the new player housing feature in Midnight.
