Raiding Hero Talents for Preservation Evoker
Chronowarden
Chronowarden is our strongest Hero Talent in all scenarios. Reverberations and Golden Opportunity both provide massive boosts to the Echo playstyle. Chrono Flame and Afterimage cause Living Flame to skyrocket up the meter breakdowns without even much thought. Double-time adds a significant amount of healing to Dream Breath, which not only makes it an even larger percentage of our total healing but also a viable choice for Echo consumption. Last but quite possibly the most interesting is Temporal Burst, which transforms Tip the Scales into a personal CD, granting you a ton of haste, movement speed, and cooldown reduction for the next 30 seconds. In many ways, you can think of it as your own personal lust on a 30-second cooldown, which is not only incredibly strong but incredibly fun as well. Any empowers you cast during Temporal Burst will also grant players Threads of Fate, and each time you cast an empower, its cooldown will be reduced by 6 seconds thanks to Instability Matrix. Overall, these Hero Talents will massively amplify your passive Living Flame healing and your Spiritbloom and Dreambreath healing, as well as give you more haste and cooldowns so that you have a way to deal with any damage pattern coming your way.
Flameshaper
Flameshaper is a bit behind Chronowarden, but it does have two Echo focused builds that are competitive and may even pull ahead in certain situations. One focuses on Dream Breath for Echo consumption, the other focuses on Reversion. Consuming your Echos with Dream Breath will yield the best results, but it can be more difficult to pull off compared to consuming with Reversion and talenting into Grace Period. It is also worth noting that Lifecinders can do a ton of healing if used correctly and should be kept in mind when going through your standard rotation and in moments of heavy damage.
Mythic+ Hero Talents for Preservation Evoker
Chronowarden
Chronowarden will be the best choice for not only healing but damage as well. Chrono Flame and Afterimage both add a ton of extra damage/healing to the rotation without any extra work. Instability Matrix continues to be the way to go in order to get extra empowers out for more Afterimage procs and simply more Fire Breath casts.
Flameshaper
Flameshaper does not offer nearly as much damage or healing as Chronowarden in Mythic+, but it does offer Lifecinders, which is one of the strongest hero talents in the entire game across any spec. This transforms Renewing Blaze into a massive external CD, putting this on any player will cause them to be able to live nearly any damage event in Mythic+ settings, no matter how high the damage intake is. As long as it does not kill them instantly, they will get so much healing from this single target that it makes Flameshaper an extremely interesting choice, even if it does fall behind a bit.
Best Hero Talent Builds for Preservation Evoker
Best Chronowarden Raiding Talents Build for Preservation Evoker
Regardless of whether you are playing a Echo or Emerald Blossom build, the recommended Hero Talents do not change. Instability Matrix and Double-time are both too strong to pass up and synergize well with any build. The other choice node comes down to Temporality or Motes of Acceleration, which, in most cases, you would opt for extra damage reduction even if it is small. If you can somehow manage to get your allies to run through Motes of Acceleration reliably, then it would be quite strong due to the duration of the speed increase.
Best Chronowarden Mythic+ Build for Preservation Evoker
Similar to the Chronowarden raiding build, Instability Matrix and Double-time continue to be way too strong to pass up. The only real contestable point comes between Temporality or Motes of Acceleration, and in Mythic+ settings, the extra damage reduction will often be the way to go. If you can, however, coordinate with your group to get them the extra movement speed, then it can definitely be a solid choice, especially when running keystones that aren't massively intensive on the damage intake.
Best Flameshaper Build for Preservation Evoker
Flameshaper is very straightforward to build. Expanded Lungs is incredibly powerful in both Raiding and Mythic+, giving you a massive boost to Dream Breath healing and Fire Breath damage. Lifecinders, as described earlier, is one of the best overall hero talents in the entire game, giving you access to a massively powerful external CD. Your other choice node is largely dependent on the content you are doing. Trailblazer can be useful in any Raiding and World content, giving you a bit more mobility. Shape of Flame is fairly useless outside of Mythic+, where it can help reduce the damage intake of your tank, and is quite powerful in those situations. It is worth keeping in mind that the extra distance Trailblazer takes you can sometimes be a negative, and for that reason, there is no massive harm in not selecting it because of that.
Hero Talents Rotation for Preservation Evoker
Chronowarden
Chronowarden offers very little to the actual rotation, but there are some concepts you will want to keep in mind. Firstly, Reverberations changes what we want to Echo; with this talent selected, you will be primarily consuming Echo with Spiritbloom for burst damage and when players are not full health. Double-time similarly converts Dream Breath from what was once a very weak echo choice to now something that can be viable when facing heavy rot damage and when players aren't in danger and closer to full health. Instability Matrix will reduce the cooldown of all your empowers, meaning that you will be cycling through your Echo rotation much quicker. In previous iterations of the build, you have had quite a bit of time when spending all your essence until your next empower that you wanted to use came off CD; this isn't as true anymore; you will nearly always have an ability that you want to empower and echo. Finally, and quite possibly the most important, is Temporal Burst. This converts Tip the Scales to a massive personal CD that you should aim to use as much as possible. Keep in mind that the haste, movement speed, and cooldown reduction that it provides is heavily front-loaded. You will want to use it right as you want the most benefit because its overall usefulness will start to fade as it is on you for longer.
Flameshaper
Flameshaper adds a bit more complexity to the overall rotation thanks to Engulf and Consume Flame. There is a heavy emphasis on maxmizing your Dream Breath through Traveling Flame and making sure that you are lining up Engulf casts with high damage windows so that you can get as much healing out of Consume Flame as possible. Because we also have Red Hot, we can afford to line up each Engulf cast with heavy damage while also making sure to keep Dream Breath on as many players as possible for as long as possible. Not overcapping on Engulf charges and ensuring that you are using Dream Breath on CD as much as possible is key if you want to succeed as a Flameshaper.
