Choosing your gear carefully is essential for your Preservation Evoker in PvP. We give you a stat priority to help you choose items with the correct stats, followed by advice on how to select the rest of your gear and your trinkets.

This page is part of our Preservation Evoker PvP Guide.

1.

Stat Priority for Preservation Evokers in PvP

The stat priority for Preservation Evokers in PvP is as follows:

  1. Intellect;
  2. Versatility;
  3. Mastery;
  4. Haste;
  5. Critical Strike.

Intellect is the best stat in all situations. Versatility is the most important secondary stat as it increases the healing you do and reduces the damage you take. Mastery (Mastery: Life-Binder Icon Mastery: Life-Binder) is the next best stat to get as it increases the healing you do to your teammates that have less health than you.

Gear Recommendations

2.1.

General Guidelines

In general, Preservation Evokers want to get trinkets that increase their overall healing output. These trinkets can have a passive or on-use effect. The stat you want to be increasing is Versatility. The reason you want to increase Versatility is because it increases both your damage and healing and reduces the damage you take. For gear, you want anything that has Versatility and Mastery on it. This will increase your overall damage output and your survivability. Here is the best equipment we recommend you use as a Preservation Evoker.

  • Head: Horns of the Destroyer Icon Horns of the Destroyer
  • Neck: Algari Competitor's Amulet Icon Algari Competitor's Amulet - Crafted with Versatility & Haste
  • Shoulders: Fumaroles of the Destroyer Icon Fumaroles of the Destroyer

Cyrce's Circlet for Preservation Evoker

Cyrce's Circlet is a new ring introduced in Patch 11.0.7 that you can acquire by completing several activities on Siren Isle. The ring has 3 sockets, which can fit a different kind of gem each. There are four different gems available for each of the three sockets, for a total of 12 gems, so there is quite a bit of choice on what to socket.

Cyrce's Circle ring does not have any secondary stats and in PvP, Cyrce's Circlet Gems are heavily nerfed. It is not recommended to use it.

2.3.

Preservation Evoker Tier Set

As noted above, acquiring both your 2-set and 4-set bonus is crucial. It is also important to note that ALL tier sets are nerfed by 50% in PvP. Although this nerf is significant, tier sets are still important to acquire to maximize your chances of winning. For Preservation Evokers, this is your tier set:

  • 2-set: Reversion Icon Reversion's healing is increased by 10%, and it has a 50% chance to grant 1 additional stack of Temporal Compression Icon Temporal Compression.
  • 4-set: Temporal Compression Icon Temporal Compression increases the healing of your next empower spell by 10% per stack.

4-set is not required for Preservation Evokers, but getting 2-set is recommended.

2.4.

Preservation Evoker Embellishments

Embellishments are bonuses that can be put on crafted gear. These affects can have a drastic impact on the game. You are only allowed to have 2 Embellishments equipped at the same time. Here are the recommended Embellishments for Preservation Evokers:

  • Energy Redistribution Beacon Icon Energy Redistribution Beacon. While above 80% health, your direct healing will redistribute up to 2% of your health to your target. This is great for increasing your overall healing output. Because this affect does stack, it is recommended to use 2 of them.
  • Duskthread Lining Icon Duskthread Lining. This Embellishment significantly increases your Versatility when you are above 80% health.
2.5.

Here are the best enchants for a Preservation Evoker:
