Best Leveling Guide for Herbalism in Dragonflight
This page goes into detail on how to best level Dragonflight Herbalism, which races are best with the profession and special parts of the profession that can be better utilized for efficient leveling.
Best Race for Herbalism in Dragonflight
Dracthyr gain 2% Perception from their racials, making them strong Herbalists for both Horde and Alliance players.
If you are a Horde player, Tauren are even stronger, as they have +5 skill and 25% extra Deftness by default!
Leveling Herbalism in Dragonflight
The first thing you need to do when you reach the first hub in the Dragon Isles, Wingrest Embassy is to learn Dragon Isles Herbalism from the trainer, which will allow you to pick Dragon Isles herbs.
Increasing your skill in Dragonflight is done by gathering herbs around the Isles, and the main limiter to your leveling speed is how highly skilled you already are, as once you are past 50 skill you will stop getting skill points from gathering common herbs, and even uncommon herbs will only grant you skill until 55.
Thus, from 55 to 100 you will need to gather herbs with special modifiers found around the isles, such as the herbs depicted below with Windswept, Frigid, Decayed, Lush, Infurious and Titan-Touched modifiers, respectively:

You will also be able to increase your Herbalism profession knowledge,
in order to further invest into specializations, by looting rare herbs such as
the once-per-week (but stackable if you miss out on looting it on previous weeks)
Dreambloom depicted below:

Other herbalism knowledge sources are the rare herbs Dreambloom Petal
and
Infused Pollen, the Inscription-produced
Draconic Treatise on Herbalism, and first time gathers of a herb type or modifier.

You can also get knowledge from Herbalism Field Notes, awarded through
a profession questline,
Dragon Shard of Knowledge which can be used to
gain knowledge with any profession, and
Dusty Herbalist's Notes,
Ancient Herbalist's Notes, and
Rare Herbalist's Notes which are
purchasable from the Artisan's Consortium reputation vendors with
increasing amounts of
Artisan's Mettle.
