Best Mastering the Elements Talent Build Guide for Herbalism in Dragonflight
This page goes into detail on the Mastering the Elements specialization of Dragonflight Herbalism, and will guide you through multiple talent builds capable of covering the various aspects of the tree and profession.
Best Mastering the Elements Talent Build in Dragonflight
The Mastering the Elements tree allows you to specialize into gathering the various types of Rousing and Awakened Essences when looting Dragon Isles herbs affected by modifiers.
This is mostly done through the usage of the Overload Elemental Herb
ability, which you should be using on cooldown. While its baseline cooldown is 12
hours, each herb you pick during this period reduces the cooldown by 30 minutes,
allowing you to use it somewhat frequently, especially if you also have the cooldown
reduction talents present in the Mastering the Elements tree branches.
Using this ability on the following modified herb types will lead to a specific result (note that Lush nodes cannot be affected and you can loot the overloaded herb before or after participating in its respective mini-game).
- Windswept overloads launch you into the air, and you can orient yourself
while slow-falling to pick up airborne flowers which grant random herbs and
Rousing Air;
- Titan-Touched overloads open a portal next to the herb which ports you
to a random nearby herb node. Pick up the overloaded herb before taking the portal
for some
Rousing Order;
- Frigid overloads spawn an Overloaded Frost neutral mob which
spawns frozen herb nodes nearby which can be looted for
Rousing Frost. The mob itself can be killed for an extra node;
- Decayed overloads spawn an enemy that can be looted for
Rousing Decay and the original decayed herb;
- Infurious overloads knock back nearby enemy players and grant you
10% extra stats from
Overload Blood for 10-minutes.

This talent pathing focuses on Mastering the Elements and unlocking all
the sub-nodes without point investment into them. The objective is to become highly
efficient at gathering all types as quickly as possible, and further specialization
into a type can be done later, perhaps in the form of 20 point investments into
all of them, to lower the cooldown on Overload Elemental Herb as much as
possible!
