Best Leveling Guide for Mining in Dragonflight
This page goes into detail on how to best level Dragonflight Mining, which races are best with the profession and special parts of the profession that can be better utilized for efficient leveling.
Best Race for Mining in Dragonflight
Dracthyr gain 2% Perception from their racials, making them strong Miners for both Horde and Alliance players.
If you are a Horde player, Highmountain Tauren are even stronger, as they have +5 skill and 25% extra Deftness by default!
Leveling Mining in Dragonflight
The first thing you need to do when you reach the first hub in the Dragon Isles, Wingrest Embassy is to learn Dragon Isles Mining from the trainer, which will allow you to pick Dragon Isles ore veins.
Increasing your skill in Dragonflight is done by mining ores around the
Isles, and the main limiter to your leveling speed is how highly skilled you
already are, as once you are past 50 skill you will stop getting skill points
from mining the common Serevite Ore.
Thus, from 50 to 100 you will need to mine Draconium Ore. Look particularly
hard for nodes with special modifiers and extra drops, such as the ores depicted
below with Molten, Hardened, Primal, Rich,
Infurious and Titan-Touched modifiers, respectively:

You will also be able to increase your Mining profession knowledge,
in order to further invest into specializations, by looting rare ores such as
the once-per-week (but stackable if you miss out on looting it on previous weeks)
Iridescent Ore depicted below:

Other Mining knowledge sources are the rare ores Unyielding Stone Chunk,
Iridescent Ore Fragments,
Elementally-Charged Stone, and
Heated Ore Sample, and the Inscription-produced
Draconic Treatise on Mining.

You can also get knowledge from first time gathers of a ore type, modifier or
usage of Overload Elemental Deposit on a specific modifier,
Mining Field Notes
from a profession questline,
Dragon Shard of Knowledge which can be used to
gain knowledge with any profession, and
Dusty Miner's Notes,
Ancient Miner's Notes,
and
Rare Miner's Notes which are purchasable from the Artisan's Consortium
reputation vendors with increasing amounts of
Artisan's Mettle.
