Crucible of Storms Boss Tips for Protection Paladins
This page will focus on how to best prepare as a Protection Paladin for the Crucible of Storms encounters, rather than a general guide for the instance. These guides and their talent recommendations are purely for progression kills, allowing you to increase your chances of killing the bosses. Once you have killed a boss and are more familiar with the fight and feel comfortable with it, you may very well wish to change talents in order to do more damage.

The Restless Cabal
Protection Paladin Tips for The Restless Cabal
This fight will likely require a fair amount of interrupts on the Eldritch Revelation adds, so do not be afraid to help with interrupting close ones with Avenger's Shield. On all difficulties but Mythic, the adds are affected by both the interrupt part of Avenger's Shield as well as the silence afterwards; Hammer of Justice is also able to stun them. When off-tanking, tanks should feel safe soaking the Void Crash once it has split at least once. Blessing of Spellwarding can be used on yourself or others to soak the initial big Void Crash.
We do not recommend playing with Final Stand, since if used, you will most likely taunt both bosses, and should this happen it is almost a guaranteed wipe due to Aphotic Blast mind controlling you at the end of its duration.
Note that while you CAN use Blessing of Spellwarding on the ranged tank tanking Zaxasj the Speaker to make him immune to the damage from the cast, this is however NOT fully reliable and sometimes it can cause the boss to cast on other players.
Mythic
As mentioned above, the Eldritch Revelation adds are NOT able to be stunned or silenced in Mythic, Avenger's Shield still does interrupt the direct cast, however. Blessing of Spellwarding and Divine Shield are both super valuable on this fight as you are able to soak and clear up the Oceanic Essence orbs that spawns and will otherwise stun you if you run into them.
Soaking the Void Crash is a very key component of this encounter, and when you are not tanking you should always make an effort to help soak them as long as they have bounced at least once. Even if you are still tanking you should try to soak, but you do need to keep an eye on your health, as well as if you have any stacks of Shear Mind as they lower your max health as well. Hand of the Protector does come well into play on this fight to help stabilize yourself after soaking Void Crashes often. As well as it can provide a big heal available right away as the healing immunity dissipaters.

Avenger's Shield can be used to interrupt several Consume Essence casts to avoid them from dealing damage and healing themselves. Both Hammer of Justice as well as Blinding Light can be used to interrupt the Primordial Mindbenders to stop them from casting.
While Blessing of Spellwarding can be used to avoid taking stacks of Piercing Gaze of N'Zoth we recommend having Blessing of Protection as you are able to cast it on yourself OR the co-tank tanking adds. As long as you have the Touch of the End debuff the Undying Guardians will still attack you while you have Blessing of Protection or Divine Shield active. This means both of them are full damage immunities the auto attacks from the adds while those effects are active.
Mythic
While the fight plays out mechanically very similar to on heroic, a lot of emphasize on the encounter comes down to much tighter timers as well as higher damage intake. Being able to Blessing of Protection and Divine Shield to avoid taking damage from the Undying Guardians is super effective as they do end up hurting. Try to save Divine Shield for a moment when you are crossing the Piercing Gaze of N'Zoth as not only will you not get stacks, you will also not require any healing during a time all healers are likely busy moving and unable to provide as much healing throughput.
Tanks are for the most part unaffected by the Unstable Resonance debuff, as we can not gain a color. This does not however make us completely immune, as should you actively be holding the Trident of Deep Ocean you can most definitely still blow up should you come in contact with someone with another mark.
Whenever swapping tanks, always try to make sure you have a movement speed such as Divine Steed when running from the boss, towards the adds. Due to the Hunger for the End buff the adds gain over time increasing their movement speed, it becomes more and more important to get away from the boss and close to adds as fast as possible as their will become very fast. When moving towards the boss however, as her movement speed is not increased, she will not move as quickly to you and will in fact often be able to simply stand still during a tank swap. This will ensure minimal uptime on the Sightless Bond damage reduction the adds give the boss should they be too close, as well as keeping the boss in a steady position to allow melee to do damage.
In Mythic, the Primordial Mindbenders can no longer be stunned, but you can still help interrupt their casts as one cast going off will definitely set your group back, both in terms of damage as well as healing.
