Quick TLDR Guide
- Split the raid into two teams with one tank, half of your healers, and half of the dps.
- These teams will go left or right when Flood of the Firelands spawns.
- Flood of the Firelands must hit at least 4 players. If it does not, the room will fill with lava.
- The melee hitbox on this encounter is very large. Melee DPS do not need to stand on the edge of the platform.
- Tanks: Swap when Cataclysm Jaws is cast. Ensure you have 0 stacks of Molten Venom.
- Tanks: You can either swap on the cast (but take more damage from Molten Venom) or swap ~25 seconds before Cataclysm Jaws and then taunt for the Jaws cast.
- Tanks: Make sure you are in range of the boss to be attacked. If no player is in range, Volcoross will cast Combusting Rage.
- Avoid Scorchtail Crash. This will spawn a shadow on the ground before it hits. Move out of the shadow.
- Heroic: After the tail hits the ground, Tidal Blaze's will fire from the impact point. Avoid these.
- Avoid players with Coiling Flames. This will deal more damage the smaller it is.
- Healers: Focus on players with Coiling Flames as they will take increasing amounts of damage.
- Flood of the Firelands will knock you away from the center of the area. Ensure you get knocked in a safe area.

Strategy Guide: Full Guide
- Before the encounter begins split the raid in two even groups. These groups will be assigned as left and right for Flood of the Firelands.
- A note for melee dps and tanks: The melee hitbox on this encounter is half of the platform. There is no need to stand at the edge of the platform.
- Healers: The raid will be taking ticking damage for the entire encounter through Burning Vertebrae. This damage is relatively low but worth being aware of.
- Healers: At the start of each phase, Volcoross will cast Serpent's Fury. This does a large amount of damage to the raid over 5 seconds. Be ready to use a healing cooldown here.
- After Serpent's Fury, four players in the raid will have Coiling Flames applied to them.
- Coiling Flames deals damage to any player inside of it (including the targeted player) and will deal increasing amounts of damage over time. Havoc Demon Hunters, be careful where you Fel Rush!.
- When Coiling Flames expires, it will jump to the nearest player. This process repeats until Flood of the Firelands is cast.
- Tanks: Molten Venom is applied on each attack and will increase the damage taken from Cataclysm Jaws.
- Tanks: Cataclysm Jaws will hit whoever the current tank target is. This can be changed mid-cast. The damage of this is increase by stacks of Molten Venom. You can either taunt swap on the cast (but take more damage from Molten Venom) or swap ~25 seconds before Cataclysm Jaws and then taunt for the Jaws cast.
- Tanks: Make sure you are in range of the boss to be attacked. If no player is in range, Volcoross will cast Combusting Rage.
- Scorchtail Crash will spawn a tail from the outside of the arena. This tail creates a large shadow on the platform, indicating where it will land. Move out of this area to avoid dying.
- At 100 energy Flood of the Firelands will be cast. This will remove any fire that spawned during the ability cycle and needs to be soaked by at least 4 players. All players inside of this will then be knocked away from the center of the area and should be knocked to their next location (left or right).

Heroic Changes:
- Scorchtail Crash will fire waves of lava with Tidal Blaze. Melee should not be directly next to the boss to make avoiding these easier.

Mythic Strategy
Currently, this tab will only contain information on what changes on Mythic. A more robust strategy will be added after the raid goes live.
1.2.
Mythic Changes:
- Coiling Flames will now create a Coiling Eruption when it expires. This is a meteor that must be soaked, and realistically, you need 3-4 other players in this to survive. After the meteor effect is soaked, Coiling Flames will jump to another player.
- Avoid standing in Coiling Eruption too early, as it will be the most powerful tick of Coiling Flames!
