Shadowlands PvP Season 2 Guide: PvP Vendors, How to Upgrade PvP Gear, and Rewards
The following guide is dedicated to Shadowlands PvP Season 2. We explain Patch 9.1 changes, go over PvP gear, and the rewards that you can claim.
PvP Changes in Patch 9.1.5
- Unchained Equipment Chest can be purchased from Au'Dara the Heirloom broker in Oribos for 375 Conquest. The Bind-to-Account chest contains 1 piece of item level 220 unranked PvP gear. It can be purchased by a character with a 1,600 or higher rating in any PvP bracket.
- Lower item-level (Honor) PvP gear scales to a higher item level in PvP situations that before. This should reduce the power level gap so that new characters can feel that they are able to compete in Battlegrounds and Arenas more readily. This change will not affect high item-level (Conquest) PvP gear.
- Additional PvP ranks and item level ranks have been added to provide a more granular upgrade experience for players climbing up the ranks.
- The Honor cost to upgrade Unrated gear has been reduced by around 25%, and the Conquest cost to upgrade Rated gear has been adjusted to spread across the new ranks.
- The following toys can no longer be used in Arenas and Battlegrounds: Contender's Costumes, Fae Harp, and Piccolo of the Flaming Fire.
- The incapacitate from the Pandaren racial ability Quaking Palm now breaks to absorbed damage.
- Fleshcraft (Necrolord Ability) now absorbs up to 30% of maximum health while in PvP combat (was 40%).
- When a Battleground or Arena match begins, Fleshcraft absorbs exceeding 30% of maximum health are reduced to 30% maximum health.
PvP Season 2 Start
Shadowlands PvP Season 2 started on July 6, 2021. No end date for the Season has been announced yet.
PvP Gear Scaling
In War Mode, Arenas, and Battlegrounds, Unrated PvP gear scales up by 17-36 item levels.. For example, an item level 177 piece of PvP gear retains item level 177 in PvE, but scales to item level 213 in PvP. However, at higher ranks, the item level increase in PvP combat and War Mode decreases. If you upgrade an item to rank 7 that has item level 216, it will only scale up to item level 233 in PvP, which is 17 item levels.
Rated PvP gear scales by 13 item levels in PvP situations, meaning an item level 220 gear piece would scale to item level 233 in PvP.
