Overview
The Sisters of the Moon comprise a three phase encounter that is almost exclusively single target, with a different sister active and damageable in each phase. Meanwhile, the other two sisters will be untargetable but present, attacking the raid with their spells. This encounter features a wide variety of abilities, with many of them only occurring during specific phases. While this encounter is complex in nature, it can be tackled with the appropriate knowledge and positioning detailed within this guide.
The Sisters of the Moon share a health pool.
All Phases
Font of Elune
The floor, where the encounter takes place, continually cycles through the
phases of the moon. Players standing on the light side of the moon will gain
stacks of Lunar Suffusion, while players on the dark side of the moon
will acquire stacks of
Umbra Suffusion. Switching sides of the moon
triggers
Astral Purge and clears all current stacks of suffusion.
Lunar Suffusion
Players standing on the light side of the moon gain stacks of
Lunar Suffusion every 3 seconds, stacking indefinitely. Each stack
increases Arcane damage taken by 3%.
Umbra Suffusion
Players standing on the dark side of the moon gain stacks of
Umbra Suffusion every 3 seconds, stacking indefinitely. Each stack
increases Shadow damage taken by 3%.
Astral Purge
Astral Purge is triggered when a player changes sides of the moon.
This inflicts moderate Spellshadow damage (the Spellshadow school acts as
both Arcane and Shadow damage), increased by your current suffusion stacks.
It also triggers a debuff called
Astral Vulnerability, which increases
damage taken from
Astral Purge by 50% for 2 seconds.
Phase One: The Huntress
In this phase Huntress Kasparian is the active and damageable sister.
Huntress Kasparian
Twilight Glaive
Twilight Glaive is targeted on a ranged player. It travels in a line
and is preceeded by an arrow under the boss, marking the path. The glaive is
avoidable, even by the targeted player, and deals heavy Shadow damage to anyone
caught in its path. After traveling, it returns to Huntress Kasparian,
also dealing damage on its return.
Moon Glaive
Moon Glaive is targeted on the current tank, and can bounce between
up to 3 targets, dealing heavy physical damage. The damage is split evenly
between the targets, and the closest players are preferred. The initial
target will be affected with
Discorporate, prompting a taunt swap.
Discorporate decreases all healing and absorption received by 75%
for 30 seconds, however, it can be instantly cleared by triggering an
Astral Purge.
Captain Yathae Moonstrike
Incorporeal Shot
Incorporeal Shot is aimed at a random player in the raid, charging
up over 6 seconds. The shot deals massive Shadow damage after 6 seconds of
locking on, during which time the ability is designated by a large arrow.
The raid can intercept the arrow, splitting it evenly and distributing the
damage to each player in line with the target and Captain Moonstrike. This
damage can also be immuned by abilities such as
Cloak of Shadows or
Ice Block.
Twilight Volley
Twilight Volley causes arrows to rain from the sky on a target
location, with an 8-yard radius. This inflicts moderate Shadow damage to
anyone in the circle every 1.5 seconds. The hail of arrows persists for
12 seconds.
Shadow Shot
Shadow Shot deals moderate Shadow damage to a random player in the
raid. It is an instant and direct attack.
Priestess Lunaspyre
Embrace of the Eclipse
Embrace of the Eclipse shields Huntress Kasparian for 12
seconds, absorbing a large amount of incoming damage. She also debuffs the
raid, absorbing a moderate amount of healing taken for 12 seconds. If either
of these abilities is not fully depleted by either damage or healing by the
time they expire, the remaining damage will be dealt to all players within
70 yards as Arcane damage.
Moon Burn
Moon Burn strikes a random target, inflicting moderate Arcane
damage every 2 seconds for 30 seconds. This DoT can be cleared by triggering
an
Astral Purge.
Lunar Strike
Lunar Strike damages a random member of the raid for moderate
Arcane damage. It is an instant and direct attack.
Phase Two: Bow of the Night
In this phase Captain Yathae Moonstrike is the active and damageable sister.
Captain Yathae Moonstrike
Call Moontalon
Captain Yathae Moonstrike summons Moontalon with
Call Moontalon, an avian ally that fights by her side. Moontalon will
attack the highest threat target, dealing Physical damage. When Moontalon
reaches 30% health, it will begin to cast
Deathly Screech every few
seconds, dealing moderate Shadow damage to the raid. This damage is increased
by 25% each time it is cast.
Rapid Shot
Rapid Shot focuses one player, inflicting moderate Shadow damage
every 0.5 seconds for 5 seconds. The damage can be immuned but not split or
intercepted.
