On this page, you will find tips, tricks, and strategies tailored to your Subtlety Rogue for each boss of the following raid: Castle Nathria. All our content is updated for World of Warcraft — Dragonflight 10.2.5.
Introduction and Disclaimer
This section will be devoted to providing you with insight into fighting the bosses of Castle Nathria as a Subtlety Rogue. It is meant to give you advice on ideal Talent and Legendary Power choices for each encounter as well as offer tips that may help your specialization in particular. These will not be full encounter breakdowns, but rather a quick summary of tips and tricks for Subtlety Rogues.
During the Dragonflight Pre-Patch, Castle Nathria, Sanctum of Domination, and Sepulcher of the First Ones will be simultaneously featured as Fated Raids. During this time encounters within each specific raid will include an additional mechanic and items will drop at increased item levels. If you would like to learn more general information about the Fated Raids system as a whole, please see our overview below. Otherwise, continue to use this page for specialization-specific tips.
Best Talents for Raiding for Subtlety Rogue
Below is the most commonly used build for single-target, which you will be using for most raid encounters.
You can easily import the talent tree below into the game with the following string:
- BUQAOB/7AZ//CwQOf4fPMswHVDAAAAAAAAAAhkkkEiQSQSIASSkIEKJJRIpBCIJpFAAAA
For encounters with adds you can use the recommended AoE build in our Talent page if you wish to do maximum overall damage, however keep in mind that this build will do significantly less boss damage which is usually the most important thing in raid encounters:
Shriekwing
We advise you to use the following Legendaries against Shriekwing.
- Invigorating Shadowdust
- Finality
Tips
- When the boss starts casting Earsplitting Shriek make sure you are line of sighting behind the pillars around the room, preferably stacking in one spot with your whole raid.
- Avoid the Sonar projectiles from Echoing Screech.
- Move away from the raid if you get the Echolocation debuff, preferably to the edges of the room whenever possible, as it leaves a void zone after the debuff runs out.
- During Phase Two, Blood Shroud, simply keep your distance to the boss as you will be instantly killed if you are within 12 yards of him.
For more information, please refer to our Shriekwing guide.
Huntsman Altimor
We advise you to use the following Legendaries against Huntsman Altimor.
- Invigorating Shadowdust
- Finality
Tips
- You can use Blind and Kidney Shot to CC the Shades of Bargast adds.
- If you get debuffed with Petrifying Howl when Hecutis is up, simply go to the edges of the room as it leaves a void zone after the debuff expires. You can also drop the debuff on top of existing ones with minimal damage taken if you use Cloak of Shadows.
For more information, please refer to our Huntsman Altimor guide.
Sun King's Salvation
We advise you to use the following Legendaries against Sun King's Salvation.

For more information, please refer to our Sun King's Salvation guide.

- Finality
Tips

For more information, please refer to our Artificer Xy'Mox guide.
Hungering Destroyer
We advise you to use the following Legendaries against Hungering Destroyer.
- Invigorating Shadowdust
- Finality
Tips
- Spread out when debuffed with Expunge.
- Cloak of Shadows prevents damage taken from Consume, meaning that as long as the cast has less than 5 seconds left, you can use Cloak of Shadows and go back to DPSing him.
For more information, please refer to our Hungering Destroyer guide.
Lady Inerva Darkvein
We advise you to use the following Legendaries against Lady Inerva Darkvein.
- Invigorating Shadowdust
- Finality
Tips
- Interrupt Conjured Manifestations' Condemn.
- Soak Bottled Anima: Cloak of Shadows and Feint can be used to reduce damage intake.
- If debuffed with Shared Suffering, make sure to position in a way that the beam cuts through the orbs on the ground.
For more information, please refer to our Lady Inerva Darkvein guide.

Sludgefist
We advise you to use the following Legendaries against Sludgefist.

- Make sure to have your DPS cooldowns such as Shadow Blades ready when the boss gets stunned and has the Destructive Impact debuff. This occurs roughly every minute in the encounter.
- Do not run on top of the tanks to avoid getting clipped by Giant Fists.
- Stay with your Chain Link partner at all times.
For more information, please refer to our Sludgefist guide.

We advise you to use the following Legendaries against Stone Legion Generals.
- Invigorating Shadowdust

Tips
- Drop your Bleed stacks with Crystalline Burst whenever needed.
- If you are targeted by Reverberating Eruption, simply move away from others. During this mechanic, if you are not targeted, make sure to soak the puddles to prevent Echoing Blast.
- Roughly every minute in the encounter a Stone Legion Goliath will spawn. Make sure to burst them down after they reach 20% Health, as they will start channeling Soultaint Effigy, reducing the whole raid's healing taken.
- Subtlety Rogues are quite mobile with Shadowstep and Sprint, which makes it quite easy to deliver Anima Orbs to Prince Renathal.
- Avoid Cluster Bombardment on the ground. If you are about to get clipped by one, you can use Feint and Cloak of Shadows to reduce damage taken.
For more information, please refer to our Stone Legion Generals guide.
Sire Denathrius
We advise you to use the following Legendaries against Sire Denathrius.
- Invigorating Shadowdust
- Finality
Tips
- After the boss finishes casting Blood Price, instantly Shadowstep for maximum uptime.
- In Phase Two, you can Shadowstep or Vanish, and Shadowstrike onto Crimson Cabalists if needed. Just make sure you have another stack of Shadowstep ready to get back to the main platform.
- If you get the Fatal Finesse debuff, spread out slightly. You can use Cloak of Shadows to soak the puddle it leaves behind without taking any damage.
