The Avowed Reputation and Rewards Guide in Shadowlands
The Avowed faction can be found in Revendreth and gives players a Venthyr-specific cosmetic piece, as well as a mount and pet at Exalted.
Gaining Reputation with The Avowed
The Avowed are a unique reputation in Shadowlands, in that you will not gain reputation in a normal way, through World Quests and callings. Instead, they are linked to the Halls of Atonement dungeon, where you will need to collect items to hand in, as well as grind out mobs for reputation.
Once you reach Level 60 and have completed the Revendreth questing achievement, The Master of Revendreth, you will be able to pick up The Absolution of Souls in Sinfall. This will lead you to the quest Halls of Atonement: Your Absolution, where you will need to kill Lord Chamberlain in the dungeon.
Once you have done so, you will be able to start collecting the Sinstone Fragments, an item that only drops from mobs in the Halls of Atonement dungeon, or in the Halls of Atonement world-area within Revendreth.
Sinstone Fragments
These fragments are used to buy sinstones from Archivist Fane, who can be found in the south-east of the Halls of Atonement area.
Depending on the sinstone you receive, you can either turn in 100 or 250 fragments. These sinstones will give you a target to go and kill, either an Inquisitor or High Inquisitor, which give you 50 or 100 reputation, respectively.
There are currently 4 Inquisitors and 4 High Inquisitors within the Halls of Atonement area.
Grand Inquisitor's Sinstone
When killing Inquisitors and High Inquisitors, players will have a chance to receive a Grand Inquisitor's Sinstone Fragment. When you have 10 of these, you can trade them with Archivist Fane to receive a sinstone of a Grand Inquisitor. Killing one of these targets will grant you 200 reputation.
There are currently 2 Grand Inquisitors within the Halls of Atonement area.
Instance Farming
While sinstone farming can be done up until Exalted, players can save any fragments they have and instead farm Halls of Atonement until they reach Honored.
To do so, simply find a group that wants to farm the dungeon on Normal and run through it as fast as you can, clearing all of the trash present. You can choose to try and speed-run through it, but you will eventually hit the instance cap (10 instances per hour) and will have to wait or go and waste your sinstones on early reputation gain.
In general, you will gain 10 reputation per trash mob killed within the instance, except for the bosses, which grant 15 reputation (Lord Chamberlain grants 25).
Open-World Farming
If you cannot find a group to farm the instance, you can opt to do your early farming alone in the Halls of Atonement area. Note, however, that the reputation gain is fairly slow, due to mobs only giving 3-5 reputation each.
If you wish to do this, you can, but you will only gain reputation until you reach Friendly with The Avowed.
Fugitive Souls
Fugitive Souls can be found around the Halls of Atonement area and, when interacted with, they will follow the player who interacted with it.
If you take it to an Avowed Ritualist, you will be able to turn it in for 50 reputation, as well as spawn minor enemies that can be killed for an additional 9-12 reputation.
Increasing Reputation Gains with The Avowed
The Avowed have special mechanics that allow you to increase your reputation gained with them at a faster rate, most notably through the Bell of Shame.
The Bell spawns in the Halls of Atonement area and, when it spawns, it must be repaired. Once it has been fixed with 30 Infused Ruby, any player that interacts with it will be given a buff.
There is a chance for you to gain the Atonement of the Disgraced buff, but this can only be given if the NPC Khongordzolo the Manipulator is standing near the bell.
Sinstone Acquisition Increases
As your reputation level increases, you will be able to buy different items from the quartermaster that will give you additional sinstones, such as Lemet's Requisition Orders, which grant you a weekly sinstone cache, and Treatise on Sinstone Fragment Acquisition, which have a chance to give you more sinstones whenever you loot them.
Time to Reach Exalted with The Avowed
The time required to reach Exalted is completely dependent on your own time invested. There is no restriction on farming this reputation beyond the instance cap, so it is variable depending on your group's clear speeds and luck.
The Avowed Quartermaster Location
The quartermaster for The Ascended is Archivist Janeera, who can be found in the Halls of Atonement world area in Revendreth, to the south-east. You can find her at the co-ordinates (72.9, 52.0).
