Tichondrius Mythic Strategy/Tactics
Table of Contents
General Information
On this page, you will find a list of changes between Normal/Heroic modes and Mythic mode, as well as a working strategy to defeat Tichondrius in The Nighthold in Mythic mode.
The other pages of our Tichondrius guide can be accessed from the table of contents on the right.
Mythic Mode Abilities
There are no overtly new abilities on Mythic difficulty, however, several abilities are augmented to be much more lethal.
Carrion Plague now increases damage taken from
Seeker Swarm
by 1000%.
Seeker Swarm, however, now only hits the player closest to
Tichondrius in the path of the
Seeker Swarm.
Brand of Argus now leaves behind
Flames of Argus.
The flames damage anyone within them and persist for 60 seconds.
Illusionary Night now instantly kills anyone without the
Essence of Night buff when the channel ends.
Strategy
The key difference on Mythic difficulty is the way Carrion Plague
and
Seeker Swarm function. Your group will need to establish a soaking
rotation for the
Seeker Swarm casts to intercept the cast. The boss
should be tanked where he stands, and a marker should be set up for the
Carrion Plagues to line up with. There are 4
Seeker Swarm
casts per phase; the boss tank should take casts #1 and #3. Players with
immunities must be assigned to intercept casts #2 and #4; the ideal candidates
for this task are Rogues with their
Cloak of Shadows. The players
soaking will take 4-5 stacks of
Carrion Plague from the
Seeker Swarm (it is applied through the immunities), meaning they will
be taking immense ticking damage (1m+ per second) for 40 seconds. Rogues are
especially favored due to
Elusiveness's potential to greatly reduce
this. Regardless of what class you use, these players will need constantly
healing and potentially external cooldowns to keep them alive for the duration
of the debuffs.
Markers on the sides of the room should be placed Brand of Argus.
These can be detonated at the raid's discretion as they deal heavy raid wide
damage. The next set of brands can be placed behind the first set of fire
pools.
Echoes of the Void does significantly more damage on Mythic difficulty.
Players should be assigned in advance to which pillar they will hide behind, as
too many players behind one pillar will cause it to break. There will always be
4 pillars (Front Right, Front Left, Back Right, Back Left); the raid should be
split into 4 groups of 5 and assigned to pillars.
The tank soaking the Seeker Swarm should always tank the boss. The
other tank should taunt several seconds before each
Feast of Blood to "bait" the debuff onto them. When the
Tainted Bloods spawn, the tanks can swap back and the blood
tank should move the bloods out of range of the
Vampiric Aura. The
add tank should also pick up and tank the Felsworn Spellguards and
Sightless Watchers with the bloods. These targets should be prioritized
by the ranged, but can be ignored by melee.
It is imperative to kill as many Phantasmal Bloodfangs as possible
during the intermission, as anyone without the Essence of Night buff
will be instantly killed at the end of the channel. All players should do as
much AoE as possible during the intermission to ensure the entire raid exits
safely.
Bloodlust should be used after exiting the second
Illusionary Night to end the fight as quickly as possible.
