Mythic Mode Abilities
Lingering Infection
Lingering Infection will now cause new effects upon reaching certain stacks.
Bursting Lesions
Upon reaching 6 stacks, players will be afflicted with Bursting Lesions when they are hit by Contagion. This will cause them to pulse moderate Nature damage to anyone within 5 yards every second for 3 seconds. Any players hit by Bursting Lesions will gain a stack of Lingering Infection.
Spawn Parasite
Upon reaching 12 stacks players will spawn an Engorged Parasite when struck by Contagion. These spawns will use Caustic Bile on random players, dealing moderate Nature damage, and will cast Parasitic Discharge when they reach full energy. Parasitic Discharge will deal a large amount of Shadow damage to all players, and apply a stack of Lingering Infection.
Terminal Eruption
Upon reaching 25 stacks players will trigger a Terminal Eruption when struck by Contagion. This will deal very high Nature damage to the raid as well as lethal Nature damage to the affected player.
Ability Changes
Omega Vector
Four Omega Vectors will now spawn at the beginning of the fight.
Plague Bomb
Significantly more Plague Bombs will now be spawned.
Strategy
The importance of managing Lingering Infection stacks has been dialed way up on Mythic difficulty. The entire fight hinges on low, even stack counts. Above there are mentioned several new effects that trigger at certain stack counts; the goal is to barely reach 6 stacks near the tail end of the fight. Things have to go very wrong in order to get to 12 or more.
Split the raid into 4 groups and have them tightly stack on four points around the boss. It is good to have set points marked in the front and back ends of the room, as Vectis is almost guaranteed to end up on both sides eventually.
When the Omega Vectors go out, if there are more than one in a particular group, have that person drop off the extra one onto a group without one. It is wise to use a raid addon like Big Wigs or Deadly Boss Mods to automatically mark players with Omega Vector in order to make them more visible. Raiders need to either track Lingering Infection on their raid frames, or use a Weak Aura to track the number of stacks on their fellow group members. Players with high stacks relative to their group members should take a step off the stack point while players with low stacks should be actively seeking to acquire an Omega Vector. Players with 6 or more stacks need to spread away from the group during Contagion; failure to do so will likely result in a wipe due to the extra Lingering Infection stacks, if not from the damage itself.
The raid damage is also much higher on Mythic, so Healers need to properly cycle cooldowns for the Contagion and Immunosuppression.
During Phase Two, each group should break off to their respective section of the room in order to cover all the Plague Bomb spawns. What works best is to just have each group move to the corner of the room closest to their stack point. Players with Omega Vector should try to avoid soaking a Plague Bomb unless absolutely necessary.
Bloodlust/Heroism/Time Warp
We advise you to use Bloodlust/ Heroism/ Time Warp on the pull to synergize with DPS cooldowns and pre-pots.
