Aldrachi Reaver offers good single-target damage while also offering strong defensive benefits, especially through Wounded Quarry, which increases Soul Fragment generation significantly regardless of the target count and Thrill of the Fight increasing healing by 20% with a fairly high uptime. Wounded Quarry is now also changed to echo physical damage done to additional targets into your primary target, which could prove useful in fights with add spawns you can use to funnel damage into the boss.

Fel-Scarred is currently ahead offensively in all target counts but falls slightly behind defensively in raid since it heavily relies on using your main mitigation tools aggressively. However, it could see especially good value on fights that require frequent AoE bursts or have vulnerability windows with extra damage taken.

Aldrachi Reaver has strong potential in Mythic+, especially in higher keys. The updated Wounded Quarry brings a very potent funnel damage profile, which might see use in dungeons where you can pull trash on top of bosses to funnel damage into the boss. Defensively Aldrachi Reaver offers strong healing bonuses from Incorruptible Spirit, Thrill of the Fight, and Wounded Quarry. While it does less overall damage than Fel-Scarred, it still deals a respectable amount without having to commit your strongest defensives as offensive tools. The biggest drawback to Aldrachi Reaver is that due to Wounded Quarry, target swapping comes with a significant power loss, and general uptime is significantly more important to keep generating Soul Fragments to keep the Reaver's Glaive coming.

Fel-Scarred especially shines in situations with many enemies while still winning offensively against bosses. A strong option for Mythic+ in all key levels and really shining in key levels where enemies die significantly faster. While Fel-Scarred does not offering as much healing as Aldrachi Reaver, it does offer strong mitigation tools in Set Fire to the Pain, Enduring Torment, and Student of Suffering as well as higher uptime on Metamorphosis and Sigil of Flame.

Aldrachi Reaver Tier Set for Vengeance Demon Hunter

The new tier set for Aldrachi Reaver leans heavily into what the Hero Talent tree already does well. The 2-piece bonus buffs most of your damage, mainly Reaver's Glaive, Soul Cleave and Fury of the Aldrachi, which account for a large portion of your damage. Meanwhile the 4-piece effectively doubles your Reaver's Glaive-combo, buffing Fury of the Aldrachi by 100%. This is a pretty substantial increase which leads us to always finishing combos with Soul Cleave to get as much Fury of the Aldrachi damage as possible, regardless of target count.

• Demon Hunter Aldrachi Reaver 11.2 Class Set 2pc — Reaver's Glaive deals 50% increased damage, all other physical damage increased by 25%.
• Demon Hunter Aldrachi Reaver 11.2 Class Set 4pc — Fury of the Aldrachi now strikes 12 times if activated after using Soul Cleave after Fracture. Reaver's Mark stacks up to 3 times, and Fracture applies 3 stacks if used after Soul Cleave.

Fel-Scarred Tier Set for Vengeance Demon Hunter

The tier set for Fel-Scarred leans very heavily into the very strong burst of the Hero Talents, with the 2-piece buffing Soul Cleave further, making it the go-to spender in almost all situations outside of 12 or more targets, or to consume Demonsurge with Spirit Bomb. The 4-piece also adds another layer of damage amplification to our already very strong burst during Metamorphosis. Notably the tier set is currently bugged and Spirit Bomb deletes the Demon Soul rather than consume it. Until this is fixed it is unlikely Fel-Scarred will be worth playing with the 4-piece unless you want to manually walk over the Demon Soul every time.

• Demon Hunter Fel-Scarred 11.2 Class Set 2pc — Immolation Aura deals 30% increased damage, and increases the damage of Soul Cleave by 20% when it is active.
• Demon Hunter Fel-Scarred 11.2 Class Set 4pc — Entering Demon Form through Demonic, Metamorphosis or Last Resort activates a Demonsurge, and spawn a Demon Soul fragment, that increases damage done by 20% for 15 seconds when consumed.

Aldrachi Reaver does unfortunately not give many choices; you will want to use Unhindered Assault, Incorruptible Spirit, and Keen Engagement in all content since the other choice nodes are generally worse in any situation.

Aldrachi Reaver in Mythic+ picks all the same options on the Hero Talent Tree as you would for raid, changes will instead be focused in your Class and Spec Talents.

Fel-Scarred has three choice nodes, which are straightforward. You always choose Set Fire to the Pain and Student of Suffering. In Mythic+, your last choice is Wave of Debilitation. For raid, you can instead choose to run Pursuit of Angriness for a minimal speed increase if there are no adds to hit with Chaos Nova.

Aldrachi Reaver focuses around activating your Reaver's Glaive either through using The Hunt or consuming 20 Soul Fragments. Once used Reaver's Glaive empowers your next Shear/ Fracture and your next Soul Cleave. As of current tuning, you always want to make sure to use an empowered Shear/ Fracture before you use the Soul Cleave. You do this because the damage increase from Reaver's Mark stacks even if the stacks come from separate activations, so you still end up with a significant uptime on 14% more damage against your main target, making the extra hits from Fury of the Aldrachi more powerful.

The gameplay in general as Aldrachi Reaver focuses significantly on generating as many Soul Fragments as possible to activate Reaver's Glaive as often as possible. Because of Wounded Quarry, it becomes even more important to have uptime on your target, and switching targets should be avoided as much as possible unless you have a Reaver's Glaive available to mark your new target with Reaver's Mark.

Fel-Scarred plays significantly closer to standard Vengeance, with only major differences surrounding your Metamorphosis windows. This means that you want to have 4 or more Soul Fragment available when casting Fel Devastation so that you can activate Demonsurge with Spirit Bomb and Soul Cleave more easily. Because of Violent Transformation it is important to have Fel Devastation and Sigil of Flame on cooldown with zero charges to maximize the gain. It is worth noting that casting Metamorphosis while still having Demonsurge-empowered spells available from Fel Devastation will waste those empowered charges and is best avoided.
