Warbands Guide
Welcome to our comprehensive guide to the Warband system in World of Warcraft. In this guide, you will learn in detail how the Warband system works.
Introduction
Warbands are a new account-wide feature in World of Warcraft, introduced in the War Within Pre-Patch. They allow you to manage all your characters under a single system, sharing reputation, transmog, gear, while providing various other benefits.
All characters on your Battle.net account are members of your Warband. This applies to characters on different realms too, regardless of their faction.
Key Features
Warbands have several key features that define them:
- Campsites — The character screen has been updated with a modern look.
- Warband Bank — Shared bank between all your characters.
- Warbound Gear — Account-wide gear type.
- Warband Factions — Shared progress with the War Within factions across your entire account.
- Transmog — Transmog collecting is now easier than ever!
- Warband Experience Bonus — Gain additional XP for every character you level to 80.
- Warband Currency — Send currency over to your alts!
Warband Campsites
The new character screen features your top four characters around a campfire, but it also shows all your characters, even those on different realms! You can create as many campsites as you would like.
When you hover over a character, you can see their realm and the amount of gold they have.
Campsite Backgrounds and Sources
For each campsite, you can set up a different background. Currently, there are 5 campsite backgrounds that you can choose. Here is how to unlock them:
- Adventure's Rest: Unlocked by default.
- Ohn'ahran Overlook: Unlocked by default.
- Cultists' Quay: Unlocked in the new Season 2 Delves Journey.
- Freywold Spring: Earn the
All That Khaz achievement to unlock this background.
- Gallagio Grand Gallery: This background is gated behind the
Going Goblin Mode achievement.
Warband Bank
The Warband bank allows you to share gold, items, and reagents among all your characters. The Deposit All Warband Items option simplifies this process by depositing all Warbound items directly into your Warband bank.
The Warband Bank comes with several tabs you can purchase, each with its own cost.
- The first tab costs 1,000 gold.
- The second tab costs 25,000 gold.
- The third tab costs 100,000 gold.
- The fourth tab costs 500,000 gold.
- The fifth tab costs 2,500,000 gold.
In total, you must spend 3,126,000 gold to unlock all five tabs.
Warband bank tabs can be customized with icons and you can assign specific tabs for equipment, consumables, and profession goods.
How to Unlock the Mobile Warband Bank
When you log in to the game, you should automatically receive the Warbands: Warbanding Together quest. Take the portal to Caverns of Time in your faction's portal room and fly to Gadgetzan. There, talk
to Blue to complete the quest and unlock Warband Bank Distance Inhibitor. The spell lets you
summon your Warband Bank for 10 minutes every 4 hours.
Warband Until Equipped Gear
Warbound Until Equipped is a new type of gear that is account-wide. You can deposit this gear into your Warband Bank, allowing your other characters to equip it. Once equipped, it becomes soulbound to that character.
Warband Factions
Initially, only The War Within factions are account-wide with more factions being added retroactively at a later point. Blizzard's goal is to eventually make all factions account-wide, but there is no time frame for it yet.
Transmog
Transmog collectors can now learn cosmetic appearances they cannot equip. For example, your Mage can collect Plate transmog.
Quest rewards now grant all appearance options, and new filters make it easier to manage these appearances across all classes.
You can now browse the sets of all classes on a single character!
Warband Experience Bonus
Your alts will receive a 5% Experience Bonus for each character reaching level 80, up to 25%.
One Warband Mentor: The War Within — Reach level 80 with 1 character. Provides 5% bonus XP.
Two Warband Mentors: The War Within — Reach level 80 with 2 characters. Provides 10% bonus XP.
Three Warband Mentors: The War Within — Reach level 80 with 3 characters. Provides 15% bonus XP.
Four Warband Mentors: The War Within — Reach level 80 with 4 characters. Provides 20% bonus XP.
Five Warband Mentors: The War Within — Reach level 80 with 5 characters. Provides 25% bonus XP.
Warband Currency
When you go to the Currency Tab and hover over different currency types, you will see that some are labeled as Warband Transferable. This means you can send them to other Warband members for a certain cost. However, not all currencies are transferable. For example, season-specific currencies like crests or Valorstones cannot be sent to your alts!
