Winds of Mysterious Fortune Event Guide
Learn everything about World of Warcraft's Winds of Mysterious Fortune event in Patch 11.1.5, including XP buffs, Renown boosts, Mysterious Satchels, and special potions available from April 22 to May 20, 2025.
Introduction
The Winds of Mysterious Fortune event is coming to World of Warcraft starting April 22, 2025, and it is a great chance to level up your characters faster and build Renown with key factions. Whether you are working on alts or gearing up new characters, here is everything you need to know.
Event Overview
From April 22 to May 20, players can enjoy the following buffs via Winds of Mysterious Fortune:
- +20% Experience for characters level 10-79;
- +200% Renown with Dragonflight factions;
- +100% Renown with The War Within factions (Undermine factions are not included).
Factions That Get The Bonus
You will gain a +200% reputation bonus with Dragonflight factions and a +100% reputation bonus with The War Within factions. Keep in mind Undermine factions do not benefit from the buff!
- Dragonflight Factions: Dragonscale Expedition, Maruuk Centaur, Iskaara Tuskarr, Valdrakken Accord, Loamm Niffen Reputation Guide, Dream Wardens, Sabellian, Wrathion, Cobalt Assembly.
- The War Within Factions: Council of Dornogal, Hallowfall Arathi, The Assembly of the Deeps, The General, The Vizier, The Weaver.
Mysterious Satchels: What They Are & How to Get Them
While you are out questing and killing mobs below level 80, you will occasionally find Mysterious Satchels. These are bonus loot bags of varying rarity that can drop from creatures or as a reward from quests.
Weathered Mysterious Satchel — This mysterious satchel contains a few interesting items.
Weathered Mysterious Satchel (Blue Quality Bag);
Weathered Mysterious Satchel (Purple Quality Bag);
Pristine Mysterious Satchel (Best version of the bag that contains gear).
What's Inside?
The satchels can contain:
- Cool visual effects;
- Temporary stat boosts;
- Bonus gear appropriate to your level and specializations;
- Two-Hour 10% XP potions that stack with the 20% XP buff to a maximum of 30%. These XP potions are Warband-bound and can be consumed during the event or saved until after the event is over to be used on characters from level 10-79. Any stat potion effect or element potion effects will not work in M+, Raids, or Rated PvP content.
Potions
Potions found in the satchels grant your character temporary stat boosts with an average duration between 20-30 minutes. They get consumed upon use. Here is a full list of potions that you can find in the bags and the effects they provide:

Mysterious Gear
Pristine Mysterious Satchels have a chance to contain special leveling gear with the Mysterious preffix. The gear
scales with your current level and specialization. Example items include
Mysterious Beacon Staff or the
Mysterious Signet ring. The gear is available for all slots except for trinkets.
