General Offensive Cooldown Usage
Windwalker Monk has a few cooldowns to think about using optimally on the fights in Liberation of Undermine:
Invoke Xuen, the White Tiger — Use on cooldown, pair it with other DPS cooldowns like
Storm, Earth, and Fire if delaying it will not lose you a cast throughout the fight. If you don't know if it will or not, then use on cooldown as the safest strategy.
Storm, Earth, and Fire — Used close to on cooldown while lining up with other abilities and damage bonuses. Don't sit on 2 charges; always have it recharging unless you know a big damage phase is upcoming where you can use both charges.
Celestial Conduit should be used with the other cooldowns, with
Strike of the Windlord used first to trigger
Heart of the Jade Serpent after the other cooldowns and
Celestial Conduit when the first
Heart of the Jade Serpent is finishing.
General Defensive Cooldown Usage
Windwalker Monks excel at handling predictable damage, but do not do well reacting to damage.
Generally you want to prioritize using Touch of Karma first to handle incoming damage, since it reflects
some of the damage back to the target. After this,
Diffuse Magic is very useful at handling large chunks of
magic damage. Lastly
Fortifying Brew is useful for smaller chunks of damage over a longer period of time, or to add
on top of
Touch of Karma to increase your health pool and the amount that
Touch of Karma will absorb and redirect.
