Zekvir's Lair Guide: Strategies, Unlocks, and Rewards
Zekvir is a challenging seasonal Delves boss in Azj-Kahet, requiring precise strategy and preparation to defeat. This guide covers everything you need to know, from unlocking his lair to countering his deadly mechanics and earning all the rewards.
Introduction
Zekvir is a seasonal boss residing within Zekvir's Lair. Taking down Zekvir is no small feat. You will need to avoid all his abilities efficiently while taking him down. Even the smallest mistake can be deadly. Defeating Zekvir offers seasonal rewards and the boss will be replaced with a new one come Season 2.
Zekvir's Lair Location
Zekvir's Lair is located at 33, 77 in Azj-Kahet. If you have the City of Threads map open, the entrance can be found at 6.2, 33.9.
How to Unlock Zekvir's Lair?
Zekvir is available on two difficulties.
- The easier ? difficulty unlocks when you clear a Tier 8 delve with revives remaining.
- The harder ?? difficulty unlocks when you clear a Tier 10 delve with revives remaining.
Recommended Gear Item Level
While we have seen players defeating Zekvir with Item Level 569 characters, we recommend you to be at least Item Level 600 before attempting to kill him to comfortably deal with his mechanics.
Setting Up Brann
It is recommended to set up Brann as Healer and provide him with the Amorphous Relic and Porcelain Arrowhead Idol curios before you engage Zekvir.

- Dwarven Medicine Tracker: Ensures 100% uptime on Dwarven Medicine to build stacks indefinitely.
- Brann Bronzebeard Interrupt Tracker: Shows you the cooldown on Brann's interrupt so you do not waste yours!

Zekvir's Abilities on Tier ? Difficulty
Now that you are all set to engage Zekvir, we are going to list his abilities and tell you how to counter them efficiently.
- Claw Smash deals lethal damage in a frontal cone. Move out of it when Zekvir is about to cast it.
- Angler's Web is a frontal cone that you must dodge.
- Call Web Terror spawns an Egg Cocoon that you must DPS down immediately while avoiding Zekvir's other abilities. If you do not make it in time, a spider will spawn who casts Web Blast. This ability must be interrupted because it stuns you for 6 seconds, which renders you unmovable and unable to avoid Zekvir's other abilities. Keep in mind abilities like Hibernate and Freezing Trap will work on the add when it spawns, but sometimes, Brann might attack the crowd controlled mob by accident, so it is not recommended to go with the CC strategy, unless you absolutely have to. Eventually more adds will spawn and the crowd control has diminishing returns.
- Horrendous Roar is avoided by running away from the area around Zekvir. You can use abilities like Fel Rush to move out as quickly as possible.
- Enfeebling Spittle puts a dot on you that slows you. Use magic dispels to get rid of it.
How to Deal with Zekvir's Enfeebling Spittle
Each class has specific dispels at their disposal to counter Enfeebling Spittle.
- Death Knight: Anti-Magic Shell;
- Demon Hunter: Vengeful Retreat;
- Druid: Shapeshifting;
- Evoker: Deep Breath + Brann;
- Hunter: Disengage ( Posthaste talent);
- Mage: Blink, Barrier (with the snare-removal talent);
- Monk: Tiger's Lust;
- Paladin: Blessing of Freedom;
- Priest: Fade (with Phantasm talent);
- Rogue: Vanish, Cloak of Shadows;
- Shaman: Ghost Wolf ( Thunderous Paws talent);
- Warlock: Demonic Circle: Teleport;
- Warrior: Avatar + Brann.
Zekvir's Abilities on Tier ?? Difficulty
On higher difficulty, Zekvir's abilities from Tier ? have additional effects and he also gains access to new abilities.
- Regenerating Carapace heals Zekvir for 10% of his maximum health.
Phase 2 Abilities
At 60% Zekvir starts casting Dark Blood, which reduces his damage taken by 99% for 10 seconds and giving him access to one new spell and three improved versions of existing spells.
- Unending Spines spawns swirls on the ground. You must move out of them when they spawn underneath you.
- Angler's Web now in addition to its frontal cone also spawn void portals. Do not stand in between them because Zekvir will start shooting bullets from one portal to another.
- Horrendous Roar is called Infinite Horror on Tier ?? difficulty and now also shoots void orbs that you need to dodge.
- Zekvir's heal heals for 25% maximum health if not interrupted.
Rewards
The following rewards are tied to Zekvir's Lair in Season 1:
- Nemesis: This Feat of Strength can be earned by defeating Zekvir in his lair before Season 2 starts. The achievement rewards the Zekvir's Raptorial Spine back appearance.
- Hunting the Hunter: Another Feat of Strength earned for defeating Zekvir on Tier ?? before the release of Season 2. The achievement rewards the Ascension Breaker title.
- Let Me Solo Him is a Feat of Strength earned for defeating Zekvir on Tier ?? solo before Season 2 starts. The achievement provides you with the Delver's Dirigible Schematic: Void.
- When you complete the Zekvir, Hand of the Harbinger seasonal quest, by defeating Zekvir on Tier ? difficulty, you will get the Toxic Victory toy.
- Heavy Handed: You will automatically receive this achievement when Zekvir kills you in standard Delves or in his lair.
