Bangboo VS Ethereal is a Tower Defense Event where you will have to help Bangboos to protect their base from Ethereal intrusion! Help them out and receive generous rewards!

This event will take place from December 20, 2024 until January 20, 2025!
What is the Bangboo VS Ethereal Event About?
Bangboo VS Ethereal is a tower defence event where you will have to assist Bangboos in various tasks, in order to receive the prestigious Hollow Operation Certificate!
You will have to deploy different Bangboo in order to prevent Ethereals from approaching your base.
How do you Participate in the Bangboo VS Ethereal event?
This event will take place in the new Reverb Arena zone that releases with version 1.4 of the game.
You need to reach Inter-Knot Lv. 15 and complete Agent Story Mole in the Hole (I) to participate.
Head to the Reverb Arena and talk to Coach Aster.
During the event, you can find Coach Aster at Reverb Arena and assist it in guiding Bangboo to defeat Ethereals in various stages and complete the commissions. The stages will be gradually unlocked as the event progresses.
In the arena you will have to place and guide the Bangboos in order for them to fight and stop the Ethereals from reaching the objective. It is similar to any tower defence game you may have seen or played before.
Defeating the enemies will give you additional points that you can use to upgrade the Bangboos or the skills, helping you progress in further stages.
Your goal is to prevent enemies from entering the base. In order to do so, drag and drop the Bangboo to different positions on the assessment field. Once on the field, the Bangboo will attack any nearby enemy.
Deploying Bangboo costs Assessment Points, so make sure you have enough. The amount you have is shown down left, and it will constantly be refilled.
You can pause the game to observe the battlefield if it advances too fast.
Bangboo VS Ethereal Solutions
General Assessment 01
Enemies:

Assessment Bangboo Positions:
The first assessment is the tutorial, so you should be able to pass it no matter where you put your Bangboos. We do recommend you choose to put two Boollseye Bangboo and one Plugboo.
General Assessment 02
Enemies:

Assessment Bangboo Positions:
Place Penguinboo first, it will serve as a last rampart against enemies. After this one, place the Plugboo as shown in the image bellow:
We only used 5 Bangboo, but you can place an additional Boollseye or Plugboo if you want to be extra safe.

Assessment Bangboo Positions:
Place Boollseye first, and as soon as you can, place Penguinboo:
From this stage on you can add buffs. For now you only have one, so use this one, but more will unlock as you advance through the stages.

Assessment Bangboo Positions:
After you placed the first Boollseye, get a Penguinboo on the floor to block one of the two entrances, and the enemies can pass through both ways this time. We choose to put the first Penguin down left, with an Avocaboo to heal him. After you placed your two Penguinboo to protect the exits, add a Plugboo towards the middle.
Avocaboo can be really helpful especially for the Penguinboo who are on the floor and take more damage.
General Assessment 05

Assessment Bangboo Positions:
Place the Boollseye first to have some range. Then put the Penguinboo right in the middle, and protect them both with Avocaboo:
You should have access to Avocaboo's buff, which increases his healing range. Make sure to use it.

Assessment Bangboo Positions:
deploy Exploreboo first for more Assessment Points. Then place down a Boollseye, and right after a Penguinboo in the middle. Finish with an Avocaboo that can protect them all:
Continue with a Plugboo on top right, as enemies come in masses from there, and another Boollseye down left. If an enemy manages to go through, you can place Plugboo next to Exploreboo instead.
You will get Exploreboo for this stage. Deploy him first, as he helps with Assessment point regeneration.
Special Environment Assessment 01

This time the stage is a bit different. Gas Burners are present on the stage and any Bangboo standing on them continuously take damage. Make sure to pick Avocaboo as a buff, as he will be needed! You can also pick Exploreboo as second buff for faster assessment point regeneration.
Assessment Bangboo Positions:
Start with Boollseye, Exploreboo, and a Penguinboo at the end to block the exit if needed.
Protect the line down with a Penguinboo and Boollseye, and add an Avocaboo towards the middle. The last Bangboo you add can be another Penguinboo on a Gas Burner near the Avocaboo.
Special Environment Assessment 02
Enemies:

Take Exploreboo and Avocaboo again as buffs.
Assessment Bangboo Positions:
Place Exploreboo directly for regen, and then a Paperboo on the top line, with an Avocaboo to protect it.
Add another Paperboo on the line down, with an Avocaboo for healing
Add another Paperboo on top, but leave one square free in between with the first one, otherwise when the enemies explode they will hit both. Put down an Avocaboo on top, you will need it.
Special Environment Assessment 03

Use Paperboo and Avocaboo buffs.
Assessment Bangboo Positions:
Place Paperboo down first, and as soon as you can, place Avocaboo:
Do the same on the top line, and add two Penguinboo in the middle.
Special Environment Assessment 04

- Golden Bangboo
- Faun
- Vicious Striker
- Tyrfing
- Faun
This stage has a special Bangboo enemy. It will not attack your own Bangboo, but if you defeat it you will get a pleasant surprise.
Pick Paperboo and Avocaboo as buff.
Assessment Bangboo Positions:
Place two Exploreboo at the start, this time you will need more assessment point regeneration. As soon as possible, place a Penguinboo in the middle.
Protect Penguinboo with an Avocaboo, and add a Boollseye on top.
Use Rocketboo when the Golden Bangboo appears (Rocketboo does not stay in place, he will just explode on the Golden Bangboo and leave). Add two more Boollseye to make sure to defeat the Golden Bangboo.
Remove the Bollseyes top left, and replace it with a Paperboo to protect the line down. You can also remove an Exploreboo now, and replace it with a Plugboo.
When the last wave of enemies arrive on top, remove the entrance Boollseye and use a Rocketboo on the wave.
Special Environment Assessment 05

use Avocaboo and Paperboo buff, and the Grill Mode chip.
Assessment Bangboo Positions:
Place two Exploreboo in the middle, a Paperboo on top and a Penguinboo to protect the line down.
Once your Paperboo is not on cooldown anymore, replace the Penguinboo with another Paperboo.
Add two Plugboo in the middle to help with damage, and use a Rocketboo on the top lane when there is too many enemies.
Add Avocaboo and upgrade it, in order to make it through Dullahan.
Special Environment Assessment 06

Use Paperboo and Plugboo buffs. Use the Grill Mode Chip.
Assessment Bangboo Positions:
Deploy two Exploreboo on each sides, and a Paperboo with a Plugboo on top. Once the cooldown is down, add a Paperboo on the bottom line as well.
Place Plugboo on the bottom line as well, and add two Avocaboo on each line. The exploding enemies will destroy your Plugboo, but you will have time to add two new ones. Remove an Exploreboo if needed. Upgrade the two new Plugboo.
Once Dullahan arrives, you can use a Rocketboo on one of them, or remove Exploreboo and replace it with another Plugboo if you miss damage.
Tactical Qualification Assessment 01

Take Penguinboo and Plugboo buffs. Pick the Exam integration Chip. For this round, Blowers will be on the battlefield. If you place any Bangboo on them they get an increased skill effect range boost.
Assessment Bangboo Positions:
Start with an Exploreboo and a Boollseye on the boost in the middle. Add Penguinboo near the exit to intercept the enemies circling around the place. Protect the exit with Paperboo.
Add Avocaboo to protect Penguinboo, and a Boollseye on another boost.
Replace Exploreboo with an Avocaboo next to the Boollseye in the middle. Add another Paperboo and Penguinboo to protect the second exit.
Upgrade your Penguinboo when possible.
Tactical Qualification Assessment 02

From this round on, you have access to Faction Bangboos. They can only be used for one round, but are more powerful than normal Bangboo.
Take Penguinboo and Paperboo as buffs. use the Exam Integration Chip.
Assessment Bangboo Positions:
Place the Bangboo in the following order: Exploreboo, Plugboo, Penguinboo on the bottom line, Avocaboo, Penguinboo on the top line middle, Amillion, and a Boollseye on the bottom line.
Add another Penguinboo on the top line near the exit. Replace Exploreboo with a Plugboo that you place on top near the exit.
Tactical Qualification Assessment 03

Use Penguinboo and Avocaboo buffs. Take the Exam integration Chip.
Assessment Bangboo Positions:
Place an Exploreboo and Amillion in the middle. Add a Boollseye on the left side on the boost.
Add Penguinboo on the left before the exit, and Safety on the right before the exit. Place Plugboo on the boost on the right, and an Avocaboo to protect them.
Upgrade Penguinboo and the two Avocaboo.
Tactical Qualification Assessment 04

Pick Paperboo and Penguinboo as buff. Take the Exam Integration Chip.
Assessment Bangboo Positions:
You can only place Bangboo on the ground this time. Place Safety in the middle where all enemies pass. Add Butler, he will heal everyone around him. Add Penguinboo for damage, and a Paperboo for blockage behind.
You can add another Penguinboo on top of Paperboo if you want, or use a Rocketboo towards the end on the two bigger enemies to kill them faster.

use Plugboo and Boollseye buff, and the Exam Integration chip.
Assessment Bangboo Positions:
Place Exploreboo and Paperboo on the bottom line, and protect them with Avocaboo as soon as possible. Add Amillion on the boost on top as soon as available to fight off the incoming flying enemies. Put down Penguinboo near Amillion on top to help.
Add Boollseye on the bottom line to help with damage, and remove Exploreboo to replace with Plugboo on top. Upgrade them when possible.
Tactical Qualification Assessment 06

Use Boollseye and Plugboo buffs. Use the Exam integration Chip.
Assessment Bangboo Positions:
Start with Exploreboo, and place Paperboo as soon as possible. Add Butler when available in the middle.
Place Boollseye on the boost in the middle, and Plugboo on the right.
Add Amillion down left, and Penguinboo to protect the right exit. You cna upgrad Plugboo and Boollseye.
Special Assessment 01
Enemies:

You can only deploy one bangboo on the field for this assessment.
Take Paperboo and Boollseye buffs. Use the Energy Saving Mode Chip.
Assessment Bangboo Positions:
Place Amillion, he will take care of the first wave.
As soon as the first wave is over and you have the possibility, replace Amillion with Safety. He will have an easier time drilling through the tougher enemies.
Safety will manage to hold through the rest of the enemies. When the last enemy arrives, wait until he defeats Safety, and then launch Rocketboo at him. This should finish him.
Special Assessment 02

You can only use Penguinboo during this assessment. Use the Penguinboo buff and the Exam integration chip.
Assessment Bangboo Positions:
Put Penguinboo on each sides and in the middle, and then wait and replace them as soon as they die. if you manage in between you can upgrade those on the sides.
Special Assessment 03

Bangboos don't need assessment point to be upgraded during this stage. Use Exploreboo and Boollseye buffs, and the Energy-saving mode chip.
Assessment Bangboo Positions:
Place Exploreboo and Boollseye and upgrade both directly.
Place Butler and Safety. Then place Amillion at the start, and Plugboo.
Place Penguinboo and Paperboo near the exit just in case anyone would slip through.
Towards the end launch Rocketboo at the 3 bigger enemies.
Special Assessment 04

You can not deploy brave Bangboos this time. Use Plugboo and Boollseye buffs, and the Exam Integration Chip.
Assessment Bangboo Positions:
Place Exploreboo and Boollseye first, then protect them with Butler, and add Amillion in the middle.
Add Plugboo and another Boollseye. Upgrade both and the previous Boollseye as well.
Special Assessment 05
Enemies:

Cooldown for redeployment is only 3 seconds for all Bangboo this round. Take Exploreboo and Paperboo for buff, and the Grill mode chip because there will be burners this round as well.
Assessment Bangboo Positions:
Place two Exploreboo, you will need the regeneration. Place Plugboo on the top line first, and then Penguinboo on the bottom line as soon as possible.
Place another Plugboo and Penguinboo to have the same set up on both lines. You can upgrade the Exploreboo if you feel like you need faster regeneration. Be careful as the flying enemies are really fast, and don't really get stopped until they get attacked. The Plugboos are suppose to attack them and stop them, but it can take you a couple of tries until it works properly for this one.
Place two Paperboo and upgrade them as soon as possible.
When you have enough energy, replace the Exploreboo with two Avocaboo. When one of the Penguinboo dies, use Rocketboo on the same side. Then jsut place back Penguinboo when he dies.
Special Assessment 06

You can only recover Assessment Points when enemies die, and can not longer use Exploreboo. Pick Boollseye and Penguinboo buffs. Use the Exam integration Chip.
Assessment Bangboo Positions:
Place Boollseye first. Wait until he kills some enemies and then put down Penguinboo. When possible upgrade Boollseye and place Avocaboo. You can also upgrade Penguinboo before the vicious strikers arrive (the second wave).
Add another Boollseye on the front line and upgrade it, as well as another Penguinboo with an upgrade as well. Last, place Amillion as support on the front line.
When you finish the Special Assessment 6 you will be able to obtain all the rewards. There is two additional optional stages that you can complete for a few dennies and 4 Bangboo System Widget. The two special stages let you use everything you learned so far. You can beat the two stages in multiple various ways so they should not pose any issue if you want to try them out.
