Elemental Attributes, Specialty, and Enemy Types in Zenless Zone Zero

In Zenless Zone Zero, there are five different Elemental Attributes. Additionally, there are Five unique Specialties. Each Agent is characterized by a singular Attribute and Specialty. The game also features three types of enemies, each with specific vulnerabilities to the various Specialties used by Agents.

1.1.

Elemental Attributes

There are five unique Attributes, each with their own set of utilities. While most agents inflict Physical damage, Attributes come into play during more powerful or special attacks.

The five attributes are:

It is important to note that Attributes do not react with each other. Having a Fire type Agent and an Ice type Agent will not create any specific reactions. Instead, Distortion is dealt which deals damage based on the Anomaly Effect and also accumulates Daze.

Agents can also unlock additional abilities if two members of the same Attribute are present in the squad. For example, if another character of your squad shares the same Fire attribute as Soldier 11, she will gain an additional 10% Fire DMG.

1.2.

Attribute Anomalies

During combat, agents deal Attribute Damage to enemies, leading to an Anomaly Buildup. Once this buildup reaches a threshold, the enemy will be afflicted with an Attribute Anomaly Debuff that corresponds to the agent's Attribute.

For example, if you inflict enough Electric damage to an enemy, you will build up the Electric Attribute Anomaly. After a certain amount of Electric damage, the enemy will be inflicted with the Electric Anomaly Debuff Shock. This debuff will inflict additional Electric damage, and can interrupt the enemy's actions.

The amount of Anomaly Buildup Attribute Anomaly is determined by the agent's Attribute Mastery stat while the damage dealt is determined by your Anomaly Proficiency.

Here are the Attributes and their respective Anomaly Debuffs:

Attribute Anomaly Debuff
Fire Burn: Deals Fire DMG over time. Organic enemies can not move while Burning.
Electric Shock: Deals additional Electric damage and interrupts enemies actions. Robotic enemies can not move while Shocked.
Ice

Freeze: Prevents the enemies from taking action, and triggers Shatter, dealing Ice DMG.

Frostbite: Reduces the enemy's Ice DMG RES for a certain amount of time.

Physical

Assault: The Enemy is interrupted, and you deal heavy Physical damage.

Armor Break: Reduces enemy's Physical DMG RES for a certain amount of time.

Ether Corruption: Deals additional Ether DMG. Corrupted enemies will attack each other.
1.3.

Agent Specialties

Each Agent will also have one unique specialty. These can be considered similar to roles, such as Support and Defense roles. They mostly indicate the Agent's playstyle, and don't really have any other impact. There are five Specialties:

  • Attack — Agents with high attack speed, and the ability to move around fast and quickly strike down foes.
  • Stun — Agents with a strong ability to control enemies. They excel at building up Daze.
  • Anomaly — Agents who apply one or multiple debuffs to enemies, and a high chance of triggering Attribute Anomalies.
  • Support — Agents with the ability to buff and enhance other Squad members.
  • Defense — Agents capable of tanking enemy attacks while inflicting heavy counterattacks.
1.4.

Enemy Types

In Zenless Zone Zero, enemies are also separated into different types. Each type of enemy will be weaker against specific types of Agents. There are three distinguinshed types of enemies.

Here are the three enemy types and their weaknesses:

  • Mechanical Enemies — Mechanical enemies are robotic type foes, such as machines or robots. They are weak against Electric Agents.
  • Ethereal Enemies — Ethereal enemies are monsters that were created from the Ether inside the Hollow. They are weak against Ice Agents.
  • Humanoid Enemies — Humanoid enemies are simply humans, such as police officers for example. They are weak against Fire Agents.
