The Criminal Investigation Special Response Team is part of New Eridu's Public Security. They are responsible for overseeing the security of the city and its inhabitants. To make it simple, it's New Eridu's Police Faction.
More specifically, this faction is a division of PubSec mainly operating in the Janus Quarter, in Lumina Square.
They are often tasked with investigating any type of criminal activity, both in New Eridu and inside the Hollows. Zhu Yuan is the current captain of this team. They also possess undercover agents.
While they are supposed to follow the law, the members of this Faction don't hesitate to show flexibility and occasionally bending the rules if it helps protecting everyone and uncover criminal organisations.
Main Story Spoilers
The Faction had to face important decisions and revelations. A significant situation exposed of corruption within New Eridu's Public Security. Deputy Commander Bringer, a high-ranking PubSec officer, was revealed to be part of a conspiracy alongside someone named Sarah, the secretary of Vision Corporation. Their plan involved using the entity Tailless ( Hoshimi Miyabi's sword) to cause chaos during a public rally. This would have led to many innocent casualties. Bringer's actions eventually turned him into a Sacrifice, but he is ultimately defeated by a coalition of different factions, including Phaethon. This also resulted in revelations around the siblings, their mysterious powers, and the fall of the Old Capital.
