Zenless Zone Zero (ZZZ) Hollow Zero Guide and Overview

Hollow Zero is an investigation game mode in Zenless Zone Zero where players can explore Hollow Zones and fight enemies for weekly rewards. There are different area levels of gameplay, varying from Entry for beginners, to Nest for end-game players. Upon successfully completing Challenge investigations, players will receive Investigation Points and additional rewards. These Investigation Points will reset weekly, so players can receive recurring rewards if they continue to play the game mode.

You can access Hollow Zero through the Hollow Deep Dive System at the Video Store. You will unlock Hollow Zero for the first time after completing the commission Earlybird Ticket to Safety.

Hollow Zero can be found in the bottom-right corner of the Hollow Deep Dive menu, where the SCOTT Outpost menu button is located. This is also the same menu to access Shiyu Defense.

In Hollow Zero, players can navigate several menus within the game mode's menu. Players can do the following in Hollow Zero:

• Enter an Investigation Area
• Check current weekly Investigation Points progress
• Review past Exploration Results
• Accept Bounty Commissions
• Set up Combat Configurations

Players can progressively unlock Investigation Areas, which have varying levels of enemy and exploration difficulties. A Challenge's Point Assessment, which ranges from 500 to 4000 points, gives a brief idea of how difficult the challenge will be, while also having a summary Difficulty Level between I to V.

Each Challenge will also have a record of the Average Enemy Level as well as the Recommended Attributes for your Agents. Upon finishing a challenge or bounty commission for the area, players will receive completion rewards.

Currently, there are 5 Investigation Areas available in the game:

• Entry: Qualification Assessment
• Zone 01: Old Capital Metro
• Zone 02: Construction Ruins
• Zone 03: Abandoned Skyscraper
• Nest: Withering Garden

Each Area has up to 5 Challenge Zones: starting with Edge as the easiest, then Frontline, Interior, Heartland, and ending with Core as the last and most difficult Zone in the Area. As players progress through each zone, the number of Challenge Zones reduce, eventually leaving only the Core Zone for Nest: Withering Garden.

Every week, players can complete Challenges and receive Investigation Points. This can be tracked in the main Hollow Zero menu. When players have reached the maximum Investigation Point limit for the week, they can no longer receive any more points until the period has been reset. Within each period, players can exchange Investigation Points for rewards such as Master Tape, Polychrome, Dennies, and more.

Under the Exploration Results menu, players can review their past Challenge Records. It will keep track of the following data per Challenge:

• Number of Corruption Stacks Obtained
• Number of Resonium Obtained
• Characters' Damage Stats and Percentages
• Bangboo Squad
• Various Exploration Stats

Bounty Commissions are side objectives for players to complete during the Challenge. You can have up to 4 Bounty Commissions available, which have varying Grade Ranks. Upon completing the Bounty Commission in the Challenge, you can claim your rewards from the Bounty Commissions Menu. These commissions will reset with the weekly period.

In Hollow Zero, players can add gameplay modules to make their session more enjoyable. For example, players can receive increases to their stats, Gear Coin gains, or combat bonuses. Players can exchange Withered Crystals for Modules, which are obtainable through completing Hollow Zero Challenges. Each Zone provides a different type of Withered Crystal, while the NEST: Withering Garden Challenge gives all three types as part of its First Time Rewards.

At the end of the Hollow Zero exploration mission, players will receive a summary detailing the exploration's total time and Bounty Commission progress. Players will be given the following rewards upon any successful or failed exploration:

• Investigation License Level EXP
• Withering Crystals
• Dennies
• Bangboo Materials

Investigation Points will also be awarded for any completion of Combat Areas.

When players complete a Hollow Zero Challenge for the first time, they can receive the following as First Clear Rewards:

• Inter-Knot Credits
• Polychrome, exchangeable into Master Tape and Encrypted Master Tape
• Boopon, used for Bangboo Channel
• Investigation Points, used for the Hollow Zero rewards
• Various Withered Crystals, used for Hollow Zero's Combat Configuration research

Upon completing a normal Challenge Zone, players will only be rewarded one type of Withered Crystal. However, if players complete the NEST: Withered Garden Challenge of Hollow Zero, players can receive all three types of Withered Crystals.

Sometimes when completing Hollow Zero, players may also receive Intelligence-type archives, viewable at the Workbench in the Video Store. One method of obtaining them is through completing Challenge Monitors. Upon scrutinizing the archives, players can learn more about the game's lore. Currently, there are only two types of Hollow Zero Intelligence items: The Hollows Bank and Lucky Ticket.
