Skill Description
Basic Attack: Dancing Blades

Passion

When Jane triggers Perfect Dodge, Defensive Assist or performs a move that deals DMG to the enemy, she accumulates Passion Stream. Upon reaching the maximum Passion Stream, Jane enters the Passion state.

While in the Passion state, Jane's Physical Anomaly Buildup Rate is increased by 25%. Additionally, if Jane's Anomaly Proficiency exceeds 120, each extra point raises her ATK by 2, up to a maximum of 600. In the Passion state, Jane's skills that deal damage consume Passion Stream. Activating a Perfect Dodge or Defensive Assist regenerates Passion Stream. Jane exits the Passion state when all of her Passion Stream is consumed.

Basic Attack: Salchow Jump

Entering the Passion state grants Jane one use of Basic Attack: Salchow Jump.

When available, hold to activate: Launch rapid consecutive attacks forward, followed by a Finishing Move, dealing Physical DMG.

Hold the button during the consecutive attacks to extend the skill duration. Release to trigger the Finishing Move early.

Anti-Interrupt level is increased during the consecutive attacks, and Jane takes 40% reduced DMG. Jane is invulnerable during the Finishing Move. Using and damaging an enemy with Basic Attack: Salchow Jump while in the Passion state generates Passion Stream.

Jane Doe's Best Mindscapes

Jane Doe follows a similar model that we've seen in other Hoyoverse games over the past years, with her second and sixth copies being major damage gains, while her M1 provides a noticeable but smaller gain than her signature weapon would.

Her M2 adds a 50% CRIT DMG bonus to her passive proc, effectively doubling her Assault Anomaly damage instead of just increasing it by 50%. This would already be very strong by itself, but the added DEF ignore is just the icing on the cake. Consider getting her weapon before pulling additional copies, it is definitely worth it.

# Mindscape Description
M1 Crime Counsel The maximum uses of Basic Attack: Salchow Jump are increased by one. While in the Passion state, Jane's Physical Anomaly Buildup Rate increases by an extra 15% and each point of Jane's Anomaly Proficiency increases her DMG by 0.1%, up to a maximum increase of 30%.
M2 Adapt to the Environment When Jane's attack hits an enemy in the Gnawed state, or when any squad member triggers Assault on an enemy in the Gnawed state, 15% of the enemy's DEF is ignored. Additionally, when Assault DMG triggers a critical hit, the CRIT DMG dealt is increased by an additional 50%.
M3 Anonymity Basic Attack, Dodge, Assist, Special Attack, and Chain Attack Lv. +2
M4 Adapt and Thrive When any squad member triggers the Assault or Disorder effects, all squad members' Attribute Anomaly DMG is increased by 18%, lasting 15s.
M5 Compulsive Hoarder Basic Attack, Dodge, Special Attack, and Chain Attack Lv. +2.
M6 "Shady" Technique" While in the Passion state, Jane's CRIT Rate increases by 20%, and CRIT DMG by 40%. After any squad member inflicts Assault, Jane instantly enters the Passion state, and gains max Passion Stream. When Assault triggers a critical hit, Jane performs an additional attack on the target, dealing Physical DMG equal to 1,600% of her Anomaly Proficiency.

How to Play Jane Doe

As an Anomaly character, Jane does not play around Stun windows on enemy nearly as much as many of the other main DPS do. Instead she has her own windows of heavily increase damage through her Passion state. Once triggered, it greatly enhances your damage, allowing you to make use of her Enhanced Attack Salchow Jump, and you will want to extend this state with perfect dodges, uses of her Special Attack.

The Dodge Counter in her Passion state is incredibly powerful, and you should make use of this instead of using your Assist charges to parry. However, using a with Jane will allow her to immediately enter the Passion state with a maximum amount of Passion Stream.

In order to optimize her use, you will want to avoid triggering a Stun with Jane herself, especially on smaller enemies, and instead switch off to another character, ideally a Stun one, to start off the Chain Attack. You can then use Jane as the last hit in your Chain Attack, and immediately unleash her full power in her buffed state against a stunned enemies that takes significantly more damage.

As with any Anomaly character, her Physical DMG Anomaly will only trigger if she is on the field. If you cast her Special Attack, and then immediately swap her for another one of your Agents, you can build up the Physical Anomaly bar without actually triggering the hit. This allows you to then build up Anomaly with another character, switch back to Jane immediately after, for an instant Anomaly Disorder trigger.

Jane Doe's best W-Engine is her signature weapon, and the second best option is not even close. Unfortunately, Grace's S-Rank Engine isn't all that useful to her either, so if you do not pull for her signature, then you have to play one of the A-Rank alternatives. The difference in damage will be somewhere around 20%, so it is recommended pulling the W-Engine over a second copy of Jane Doe, first, if you decide to go all in on spending for her.

Her best Drive Disc set is a combination of 4-piece Fanged Metal, and 2-piece Freedom Blues. As long as you can get a reasonable amount of Anomaly Proficiency, the remaining stats don't matter too much, as you will be getting a big chunk of ATK from her AP scaling.

Except for her Chain Attack, all her Skills grant somewhat even damage across the board, so there is no need to hyper-focus on one or two of them to maximize DPS.

Jane Doe Team Comps and Synergy

DPS Stun Support Bangboo
Jane Doe Burnice White Lucy Red Moccus
Jane Doe Lucy
Jane Doe Grace Howard

Jane Doe currently has a lot of team building options. Seth Lowell and Lucy are two easily accessible options, since you likely have one or more multiple copies of Seth from pulling Jane, while hopefully having at least one copy of Lucy.

Her best team at the moment is with Burnice White and Lucy, as this allows her to regularly trigger Disorders from Burnice's Burn Anomaly. Since Jane wants a lot of field uptime, and Burnice does not need to be on the field for more than just a few seconds or her Ultimate, the two pair together incredibly well, while Lucy provides a large ATK boost to both characters that is easy to maintain, especially if Lucy is at M6.

Grace Howard, Alexandrina Sebastiane, Qingyi and Seth Lowell all work in some combination to apply Electric Anomaly, giving you high Disorder damage every time it procs, while also providing a decent amount of stun. Rina comps are the hardest to play due to having to animation swap cancel out of her abilities regularly in order to not lose too much uptime. Jane Doe does require quite a lot of field uptime, after all.
